  1. MC Name: True_Jay

    Character's Name: Gryndyll

    Character's Age: N/A

Character's Original Race (N/A if not applicable):

             N/A

    Transformed form:

             Sprite

    Creator's MC Name:

             N/A

    Creator's RP Name:

             N/A

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Sprites are creatures that originate from the Eternal Forest, a realm filled with strange creatures that occasionally slip into the mortal realm. On a night with a full moon, a sprite may, on occasion, find themselves slipping into the mortal realm, through select spots referred to as Fae Rings. The bodies they once had are unable to pass through the rings, leaving the sprite’s spirit to form a new body from greenery and foliage around them, as well as dead insects and other natural materials. In creating their body, it must be humanoid in appearance, having two arms, two legs, a head and torso. Any extra appendages will not be functional as limbs, and any alchemical properties of the plants a sprite may have is rendered null. Sprites are also formed with wings, granting them the ability of flight. The may fly up to 5 meters in the air and must rest for one elven hour if they exceed this height. OOCly, sprites cannot surpass player-made barriers or walls with their flight.

Sprites are mischievous by nature, but are capable of sentience and, through growth and age, remarkable intelligence. However, they struggle to understand Common and can often do no more than speak broken sentences. In time, a wiser sprite may gain a greater understanding of the language and potentially speak in more complex sentences, though they will never be fully fluent. Instead, they communicate through a form of nature’s communion, allowing them to convey their thoughts and emotions to plants, animals, and other fae. In order to communicate with a descendent, a sprite can use communion voicing, providing a direct link for communication. They do so by touching the Descendent and creating a connection that allows them to communicate simple thoughts and ideas. This process provides discomfort the Descendent and will cause a heavy migraine if done for more than five emotes of dialogue.

Sprites are of the belief that they are stranded on the mortal realm as punishment from the Aspects and that they must perform certain deeds to atone for their actions and appeal for their eventual return to their home. These actions and attitudes differ from sprite to sprite. There are three main categories:

Dayward Sprites seek redemption from Cerridwen, and as such, are more passive, seeking to assist nature and animals. Their mischief usually occurs as a result of aiding animals or plants that are being mistreated or require aid.

Nightfall Sprites seek redemption from Nemiisae by bringing the deaths of other animals, creating the most mischief of all sprites. These are some of the more feared sprites, and often destroy gardens of Descendents.

Twilight Sprites seek redemption from Cernunnos, seeking to showcase their bravery and honor through acts of warriorship. They tend to fight and duel with other sprites, building up their strength and ambitions.

Sprites all have an alchemical reagent that is sought after by alchemists, thought it is unable to taken forcefully. Instead, each domain of sprites must give their respective reagent voluntarily, often through bargains or demands. Nightfall’s reagents are in their tears, Dayward’s in their breath, and Twilight’s in their blood. Should a sprite come across a situation where they must defend themselves, they may release a specialized toxin emitted through their skin. This toxin traverses a three meter radius and causes extreme disorientation to any who come into contact. This toxin provides the sprite an extra opportunity to escape or to squeeze in a few more attacks. Two emotes are required to release the toxin and physical strain must accompany its release. The toxin will also only last for one emote after its release.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Gryndyll is a Twilight sprite and has taken the form of seaweed and algae. The core of their body consists of seashell debris and fish bones, with glowing violet algae and plant matter covering up the majority of its ‘skeleton’. Over top of their head and draping from their shoulders is dark green seaweed, giving form and shape to their body. Amongst the greenery are little sea blooms of pale teal. Their wings are transparent and a slight violet hue, hiding within the mass of seaweed on their back.

  2. "Some say Timothée was the best bard alive."
    The Bardic Spirits Present
    Poster_3.png

In order to honor our fallen bard, the Bardic Spirits of the Amphitheatre have decided to hold a celebration, one of song, drink, and dance, three vital ingredients in our remembrance of a true master of the arts! Everyone is invited to pay homage to this great man, whether it be through performance or your role as an audience member! As long as the air is filled laughter and joy, the fields filled with food and drink, and the echoes of song in the air, hope and passion shall remain in our hearts ever-strong!

    WHAT IS THIS?

Our late friend and musician, Timothée, was always fond of improvising tunes on the spot, whether they be about his beloved wine bottle, or his grand travels! And so, the Bardic Spirits have decided to hold an improvisational tournament in his memory.

The Flyting Tournament will consist of a simple competition. Much like a Bard-Off, musicians will be challenged to improvise a quality, lyrical, and rhythmic song on the spot! However, there is a catch: we will be asking audience volunteers to shout out a word and, whatever the word may be, our bards will be required to include the topic in their tune in some way, shape, or form.

Judging will be based solely on the reaction of the crowd (for to a bard, the only judgment that matters is that of the audience). Whoever garners the best reaction will be deemed winner of that round. And whoever ultimately creates the most impressive music shall be praised as musician of great talent, blessed by the late Timothée himself!

    May the best bard win!

    WHERE IS THIS?

In the Amphitheatre, on the road to Aegrothond and near Siramenor

    WHEN IS THIS?

(TIME HAS BEEN EDITED, PREVIOUS POST MENTIONED 7EST. EVENT HAS BEEN MOVED UP)

    2PM PST /5PM EST on Saturday, 8/8/20

  3. Upon hearing the news of the esteemed bard’s death, the Songbird was filled with shock and disarray. He shook his head in denial, softly whispering, ”I had just spoken to him... just the other day... We shared a drink, a tale, and a song...” With little else to do but accept the death of an old friend, the elf took out his harp, the very same with which he played his last song for Timothée, and strummed a melody, the same wistful, bright tune he played for his friend at the tavern.

”♫ The death of a poet, so full of life ♫
♫ Hits hard in our hearts, in times of strife ♫
♫ But sing, ti, we shall, in great memory ♫
♫ To our great friend, our muse Timothée ♫”

Wiping the tears from his eyes, it could be seen there was no frown upon his lips. No, there was only a smile, one last display of appreciation for his friend who blessed the world with so much happiness and joy.

Long live the bard, forever in our hearts.

  4. When I first joined years ago, I know the monks were a thing but they never approached me. I know it’s important to reach out, but lots of players are too nervous to bother someone they don’t know. So, especially in WS chat, it’d be pretty useful for monks to directly approach new players who seem confused, even with just a /msg.

Secondly, the monks really are super mysterious and confusing. They live at Cloud Temple, but they have little to no lore or reason for being there or for knowing the lands. I think this adds to the issue that most monk guidance has ooc chatter; there’s little to go off of irp. Thus, I think it’d be helpful to establish a more structured base for the monks, give them some more intriguing lore, and have them be more involved in the world itself. They can retain their neutrality and even have that be enforced ooc, but I personally believe that players would feel like they’re actually learning to participate in the server better when they’re interacting with a people who are involved. Likewise, it would give monks more of an incentive to rp as their characters and generally be around for when new players need help.

A third idea, that could be more flexibly changed and would probably require more thought, would be a volunteer system for established players to guide a new player. Some sort of sign-up or mentor system located near the Cloud Temple (or in the forums/Discord) that new players could voluntarily sign up for themselves. I think that would take a load off monks who don’t have all the time in the world, and allow new players some more freedom in the kind of help they receive, especially since they’re already interacting with grounded members of the playerbase. The volunteers could focus on general info or be nation specific, allow the new player to establish themselves in a community, and the new players would have square choice in who guides them, to avoid any nation pressure or bias.

By all means, this system may not be perfect and could use much refining, as most of it is just thoughts spewed from my mind within the last five minutes, but I think something of the sort would open up the resources a new player can access and encourage many to explore the world alongside someone who willingly introduces them to what they’re most familiar with.

The monk guidance system is flawed, but it’s a concept that could grow into something great. I appreciate the concern and efforts to improve on it, so keep it up!

  5. Revin peered intently at the flyer, scratching his sideburns. ”Ah, so this is the competition I’ve heard about... I’m a little rusty, but it could be fun. For the practice.” He gave a firm nod as he wrote a quick reply, sending it off through his colorfully feathered hawk.

  6. Revin Songbird scratches his sideburns in thought. He had traveled Arcas and made himself a living for a decade before his current age of 40. To set a concrete minimum age to represent maturity of adulthood was foolish. "We've got to rely less blindly on law and and tradition, and instead use our own judgement," he muttered. "Besides, just because one attains legal adulthood does not automatically merit them any leniency should they demonstrate incapability to express maturity, just as many above 50 still struggle to act civilly. It only allows those who have proven worthy of respect to aid the nation accordingly."

  7. Hello everyone!

It's me, your local rookie. I actually joined months ago, but I haven't really played much whatsoever. See, I moved and I almost forgot I joined this server. But I remembered and now I'm back and ready to RP. I'm just a bit confused and disoriented since we've apparently moved on from Valior and I forgotten most of the mechanics in this server. I've once again informed myself on the rules, lore, etc. I just need a little help starting out. I am playing a Wood Elf as of now, but I'm a bit lost on where to RP, where to obtain a house, etc. If anyone would be willing to aid a newcomer, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! :P

  8. Out-Of-Character Information

Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication!

    What’s your Minecraft Account Name?:flameo0

    How old are you?:13

Are you aware the server is PG-13 (You won’t be denied for being under 13):Yes, I am aware, and I promise that I am exactly 13, 14 on October 9th.

Have you applied to this server before? (Please link all past applications):No, I do not believe that I have

Have you read and agreed to the rules?:Yes, I have read the rules and agree to follow them to the best of my efforts

What’s the rule you agree with the most?:I agree most with the no God-Moding rule, as I know how annoying an overpowered character can be, even outside of roleplay

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules):The majority of the rules are straightforward, and can easily be referenced to. There may be slight confusion on specific violations, but common sense can easily guide you.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft? I looked up RP Servers, and I found this one interesting.

    Definitions

Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

What is roleplaying?:Roleplaying is to assume the role of an imaginary character, usually via forms of technology. The setting of a roleplay can be anything the players choose.

What is metagaming?:Metagaming is having your character act on information that the character does not know, even if you yourself do. An example would be your character going to a certain town you have seen on the map on the wiki, but your character had never heard of in-game.

What is powergaming?:Powergaming is overpowering your character, and not letting your opponent react to your actions. An example would be "Assasin killed peasant" This does not allow the peasant to do anything to defend himself, and as such is giving the assassin too much power.

    In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

    Character’s name: Revin Kylstrom

    Character’s gender:Male

    Character’s race:Elf, Wood

    Character’s age:50 (Culturally Accepted Adult)

Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Revin Kylstrom is a wood elf, raised in Cerulin. His father worked as a woodworker his whole life, as did his ancestors before him. His father leads a quiet life, and has no plans for the future. Revin, however, despised the dullness, and practiced archery with his friends.

Over time, he reached adulthood, and was expected to aid his father in his woodworking business. Revin, however, had plans of leaving, and finding something more interesting to do with his life. After much argument, Revin left his family distraught, and ventured forth to explore and learn something in life. Personality Traits: He is rebellious and less in tune with nature than other wood elves. He is independent and dislikes rules and being ordered around. He has become very distant with his family as a result of striving for freedom. Ambitions: His ambitions are very simple. Escape the prison of everyday life, and learn something useful. He wants to explore the world around him, while avoiding a job that requires him to stay in one place. He wants to delve in something thrilling and unique, something that requires skill, something that motivates him and drives him forward. (As you can see, he has no clue what he wants to do. Good thing he doesn't want a permanent job)

Strengths/Talents: He is very fast and quick on his feet, and has skill in archery, the only weapons he has ever touched.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Although he does not know it yet, he is not especially skilled in combat, however much he likes to dive into it. In other words, he is fully confident as long as he can stay back and attack from a distance.

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Revin is not tall, as most wood elves aren't, he is about 5'7". He is around 120 lb. and light on his feet. He has brown hair, a fair complexion, and green eyes.

Appearance, please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin (If you need help, see our screenshot guide here): http://www.minecraftskins.com/skin/5474497/wood-elf/

    Edited for easier reading.
