  1. Yeah you guys have the proper lore, that much is clear. Seems weird, taking away a subrace, when the LT are the ones who approved the subrace in the first place.

On another note, my character isn’t a wood elf. Now my subrace is wood elf. Mods apparently don’t have the command to fix this. You guys made a mess. Clean it up.

  2. I don’t really have an opinion on the whole subrace vs culture thing. But if getting land means you’re considered a subrace, then ‘mother grove druid’ would be a race.

Obviously that’s wrong. That argument seems pretty invalid.

Regardless, hopefully this all gets sorted out sooner, rather than later. Never good to see part of the playerbase unhappy.

MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

Three large branches up the staff. Leather binds them together, up to the tip, where there's excess leather that holds a glowing green stone. Attuned Druids sense powerful life emanating from the staff. They'd certainly sense that it's strongly connected to it's bearer.

    Effect(s) of Artifact:

The Tortoise Staff consists of two large branches intertwined together to form the singular staff. Starting near the top, leather is wrapped around up to the tip, where leather then hangs in such a way that it holds an emerald cut in the shape of a tortoise.

The Tortoise Staff is an awakened staff, with many vines wrapped around the entire length of the staff. These vines can be unfurled at the will of a Druid who possesses the staff. The two branches which make the staff are made of spruce, and a darkened type of oak wood. Also along the staff are many knots of pine needles which grow out of the two branches. These pine needles are hardened using Druidic gifts if needed, which can result in damage to bare skin, and perhaps through light cloth, but nothing more.

Due to the staff being awakened, and it having been awakened for quite a long time, as well as being held by the Tree Lord who originally crafted it, awakened it, and the same who pours Druidic energy into it during meditation and such, it has a very basic form of sentience. It’s become intelligent in a form similar to that of Spriggans. This causes the staff to be able to act autonomously sometimes. Not simple and unintelligent like other forms of plant life. It can only make very basic actions on it’s own, throwing itself in one direction when it’s in danger, though not very far. Manipulation of wood, vines, and the pine needles. But when acting on it’s own, it lacks almost all direction and purpose. To actually act with purpose and direction, it requires a Druid to communicate and control it directly. When a Druid communes with this staff, especially the one who crafted it and spent all the time putting energy into it, it can generally be controlled much easier than an un-awoken staff. As it senses what the Druid wants, and acts on it’s own after that.

    Red Lines of Artifact:

-It can be rendered unusable by respective anti-magics.

-The staff will ONLY act on it’s own when in dire danger, such as attempting to prevent destruction. The staff will not do anything wild, in fact, anything it does besides that would be purely aesthetic without Druid control.

-It just acts a staff covered in some plant life when wielded by a non-druid. It does absolutely nothing special when in the possession of a non-Druid, unless preventing destruction.

-The staff will ALWAYS prioritize Druidic requests from those it has closely bonded with. Just like a person would listen to their friend quicker than a stranger. A fellow Druid trying to control the staff when it’s in the possession of one it’s closely bonded to, would fail.

-The basic form of sentience it has only effects using Control of Nature on the staff itself, not anywhere else. Such as with a separate plant.

Explanation of effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

In the beginning the staff was simply a basic awakened staff. Which came to be awakened through the art of Blight Healing. It acted as any other awakened staff or item, only able to be used through Control of Nature, and without any sentience. Over time, the creator of this staff has spent nearly his entire life with this staff, pouring energy into it each time he meditated or had the energy to spare. Druidic energy is filled to the brim within the staff, allowing it over many many decades to gain an intelligence extremely similar to that of Spriggans. The extremely large pool of Druidic energy has formed into a sort of pseudo-soul, certainly not a real soul. This causes it to react with autonomy. But as stated before, it’s sentience is heavily limited and will only act on it’s own when absolutely needed.
