My character has a ever growing dark elf family named the Delevoyes. I've decided that i want to bring in more extended family into play

and need two people who are willing to play non stereotypical dark elves. 

The first character is my character's cousins mother whose name is Cora and ran away when Elora (her daughter) was just a small child. Cora's husband was a terrible man but would not let Cora take her child with her so instead she ran away by herself, leaving Elora in the hands of her malicious husband who is now dead. Cora would come back to find Elora after hearing the news that Ethir (her late husband) is finally dead. Cora would be around 250

The second character would be my characters half brother. My characters parents are both dead but before Arabella (my character) was born her father had a affair with a tailor in the local city. Archontas (the father) had ended the affair after his father found out and nine months later, without him knowing, his ex-lover gave birth to a boy who was biologically Archontas'. When Arabella was finally born Archontas' son was six years old and was still hidden from his real father. Finally his grandfather (Archontas' father) has sought him out with news that he has found Archontas' other child and wishes for him to be there once he meets her. The half brother would be around 126.

its just a quick backstory i wrote a couple weeks ago when i needed to quickly come up with a reason why my char was new to the island. Please don't point out my backstory's faults when this was a thread created for a purpose completely different then criticizing the backstory.

First, heres Nyala's backstory (the kha who needs a parent)

Nyala was taken when she only three years old and became a noble human households pet. In said household they demanded her to never speak or do anything that a normal household cat would not do. Once her owners had children it got worse. The children pulled on her fur, threw things at her, and even clipped part of her tail. At 20 she finally escaped the terror and made her way to the kha island, not even knowing that she found it and that others existed besides herself. 

Thats her main backstory, the rest she'd learn after reuniting with her daughter who is now 23. Her mother would be a Leparda (as Nyala is) and would look similar to her. Arabella would love to have a stall to sell food goods, her daughter can sell dolls and her son enchanted items.

I'm kinda tired of hearing how people compare Fidias to frost witches seeing as the only similarity is that they have is that they prey on people, and from what i've heard they only prey on men? Well if that is true then frost witches and Fidias have even less in common. Fidias prey on both men and woman, no matter if the Fidia is a man or a woman. Fidia's also are fertile unlike frost witches and rely on family. Also Fidias are both MAN and WOMAN, not just girls. Thank you for your ignorant comment and goodbye.

Current verdict: Snowflakey, sorry. I just don't see how this will make the server's RP any more enjoyable than perhaps pleasing the monster hunters of the world and the few who play a Fidia. Good luck in your endevours though, I might've sounded like a scrutinizing bastard but I've gotten higher and higher standards for new creatures and cultures over the years.

 

I'm happy everyone is giving their opinion on this topic, whether it be a positive comment or a negative one, but there is a difference between constructive criticism and being flat out mean. You could have said this all in a much nicer way and if you had looked at the comments above you would have seen that while i have been thinking of this for months, i could not come up with the way they came to be. How can one dye a snakes tail? Please tell me seeing as a Fidia's tail is a snake tail. Also i put that Fidia's need to eat descendant every once in a while because it gives them energy, descendants helps rekindle their strength  and basic animals like cows just help keep them from starving, i understand animals gives energy and such but for a Fidia it is different. Next time you decide you want to give your opinion about someones ideas, please make sure it STAYS as constructive criticism and not turn into a "scrutinizing bastard."

Fidia

Habitat: 

They usually live in deserts since they are also cold blooded which means they prefer hot places and can be seen lounging around in the sun.

Description: 

These creatures have a half human half snake creature that range from 6’4 to 7'5 feet tall and usually come in the form of woman, but there are men Fidia’s as well. They have a long, scaly tail from the waist down and from the waist up is the body of a human. Male Fidias wear nothing from the waist up while woman usually wear a kind of short top that just covers their breasts, it is dark colors and their eyes are either light yellow, silver, or pitch black. Fidias feed off of the descendents and once in predator mode turn into full humans who can seduce anyone, from men to woman. Once they bring their prey back to their chambers, they change into their normal form and attack, going to usually eat their prey whole. A Fidia’s tail can be cut off and is a large weakness of theirs. A Fidia can eat animal meat, fish, and vegetables but they need they need the meat of a descendant to stay strong which is a important thing in the Fidia society. To them their tail is everything and are rather vain about them, so if someone is to hurt their tail it angers them beyond belief. But it also hurts them and gives you a opportunity to either flee from their grasp or to kill them.  

A tail repersents their rank, Fidias live in one large group where their is one queen, whom does not have a king but instead mates with the men of the group, it is seen as a honor to be chosen by the queen to procreate with her and even the men’s mates take it in pride. Once born a Fidia’s future can be seen just by the color of their tail. Not every Fidia that the queen birth’s will be granted with a royal tail which means they will be given to their fathers family and seen as a mere citizen of the group in the queens eyes.  The Fidias do not practice any religion and when one wants to marry the queen does the ceremony, it is a simple ceremony where a descendant sacrifice must take place. If a Fidia leaves their group or is outcasted their tale slowly decays from being away from their queen. A queen starts to die at the age of 450 and must conceive a child fast for that child will become the next queen and be born with a lilac purple tail. Fidias only change to their human stage if they are trying to kill a descendant for food. Unless they are trying to catch their food they stay in their Fidia form.

Cooks tail- light yellow

Farmers tail- Dark yellow

fishermen- Dark blue

Royal tail-  lavendar purple

Queens tail- lilac purple

Servants- light red

Its sad to see that your upset over this and i'm sorry some people have caused you to have such a hard time on lotc. Sure sometimes we all can be a little annoying but honestly that shouldn't effect who we rp with and it most definitely does not give people a right to tell you to kill yourself, its actually illegal in the U.S. to cyber bullying and what you've described is in fact cyber bullying. Not that im saying to go and sue everyone or another, but well yeah. I'm glad you randomly msg'd me that one day with the bizarre question of "will you be my mommy?" It made me laugh and i've considered you a friend ever since. I hope you are able to come back and when you do i hope you enjoy lotc to its fullest once again.

LoTC In General:

What do you like about LoTC?

The lore is definitely interesting, and i like the realism with certain things. In another rp server i used to play on, no one could rob another or lockpick into a fellow players house. It was to calm and unrealistic, like a stepford community without the secret murdering.

What do you dislike about LoTC?

Lately i've seen people metaing or powergaming and getting away with it because no one wants to be the bad guy. Plus the dependence everyone has on skype. I was once accepted into a guild but once the guy found out i couldn't get skype he rejected me, and this has happened a few times now.

What is something LoTC needs to do more of?

Events! I love being part of events whether i'm only there to cater since my char is a caterer, or i'm there as a participant. I love getting to interact with other players icly during events and would love if there was more of that, it seems as if no one has heard of a festival on here because i haven't found one yet but would think it'd be cool to have a spring festival with music, stalls, and games.

What should LoTC do less?

Hmm, i guess OOC? I will admit im guilty of getting distracted and talking oocly with the guy i'm rping with but it'd be great to have more rp. I've seen rp servers slowly decline because of the insane amount of ooc conversation happening, and i don't want that to happen with lotc. 

What did you like specifically about previous maps?

Haven't been here long enough to see previous maps, unfortunately i've only been here since August. 

What would be interesting to see in a future map?

More intricate cities. I love the cities now, i do, but it'd be cool for the cities to each have something very special about them. My favorite cities are Kal'Akash and the wood elven city because it has such a unique appeal, Kal'akash is this cool city in a cave with a canal inside, and roads that lead to different things like homes, a dining hall, and more. The wood elven city is just, god i love that. The gardens, little cabins, and apartment buildings. Even the tavern is completely different with their self serve system.

What keeps you coming back to the server?

Mainly my friends. This server has been a great platform to meet great people whom i like to call my friends, if i didn't have them on this server i wouldn't have fully grown to love this server. I love the intricate workbench system and the variety it gives to items. Cooking is a whole other ballgame and stonemasonary is a lot of fun. The uniqueness of the system helps keep me coming back too, but its mainly my friends ^_^. 

Events and Interaction:

Does LoTC need an antagonist?

Yes! But from what i've heard Iblees has been overdone so maybe something new? Maybe someone who yes, wishes for ultimate power over Vailor, but is not Iblees. Maybe someone who has extreme power and causes things like famine and disease over Vailor but still has a uniqueness to them that differs them from Iblees

Do you think LoTC needs more incentive to explore?

Yes! There is the whole pirate crew now but i do know there is a plugin to make ships move, i can't remember it for the life of me, but it'd be cool to add that so that the pirate crew can fully experience exploring, maybe they come across land that is not vailor with cool new races and such on it? Also it'd be cool to have something for other people who cannot fully commit to being a pirate that still involves exploration and discovery.

Do you think the server’s players need to work together more?

I do, i think team work is important and helps bring a server together, having a event happen, like maybe a natural disaster, could help make that happen. If a hurricane happens on one land and destroys its homes we could all ban together to help fix it and bring it back to life.

Plugins and Development:

What do you think of the skill plugin? Rate the skills plugin on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being your dream plugin that meets every element beyond expectations.

I'm gonna go with nine, i do love the skill plugin and don't want it removed but it'd be great that if you do choose your three professions (im counting bonus) you should still have promising for all the other skills you didn't choose. I can't name how many times i couldn't make a simple thing because it was promising and i was inept.

What plugins do you think the developers need to work on?
