What magic(s) will you be teaching?

         Fire Evocation

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Fire evocation is a voidal magic focused around summoning fire, and later on smoke, from the void. It demands full understanding of what is being summoned, like other evocations. Starting with small embers and fireballs, the magic practitioner would grow in skill to summon flamethrowers. Though only able to control flame pulled from the endless power of the void, the flames created would burn and injure flora and fauna with equal measure.

Many years of practice would find the student a master of summoning flame, and using it for anything from quick patch up healing to combat.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There aren't truly subclasses of fire evocation, unless one counts blue fire and combustion, or competitive and non combative. Competitive spells are more numerous than the non combative, the latter consisting of conjure fire.

Combative spells are those usable in combat, and thus more powerful with stricter usage guidelines. While the aesthetics are often up for the user's desires, for example a flamethrower looking like a Phoenix in flight, the effects are uniform.

Flame Projectile

Vulnikru stayed near the back of the room, eyes aglow like a sunset and those dark, thorny vines creeping down her arms, and across her chest. They bloomed with orange hued flowers, and the woman let out a long exhale.

A hand raised before herself, the palm layered with burns from her past castings. The air above it began to ripple with heat, a small ember tearing itself into existence, and beginning to grow.

The Mali'ame mage looked up from her fireball as it grew into the size of a small baseball, crackling and burning the air. She took a few, slow steps forward, towards the bar fight that had erupted. With a sharp flick of her wrist, she sent that fireball into the fray.

Conjure Fire

"Hands." The ginger wood elf demanded of her student, extending her own towards her surprised student in a grabbing motion. "Give me your hands. Quickly."

The man nodded, hesitantly reaching out, and the woman grabbed hold of his hands, examining his fingers and palms. Several small burns marred them, from the raw circles of put out cigarettes to what was more clearly caused by the flames of candles. All were in various stages of healing. She nodded her head, a satisfied smile on her face as she released him, the man letting out a sigh of relief.

"Excellent, you get to keep your fingers." She stated cheerfully, as if she had no intention of following through with the threat. "Now, last we spoke, I explained the void to you. What do you remember? Have you been doing your meditations?"

"The void is a sea of nothing, that goes forever." The man stated, "And ti- I've been working on my connection. I haven't thrown up lately."

"Good. Now draw into that nothing, and bring forth flame."

The Mali'ker man nodded his head, brow furrowed. He raised his burned hand, brow furrowing as he shuddered. The air above his palm began to ripple with heat, a small ember bursting into existence. A hiss of pain left him, he had summoned the flame too close.

"The first of many voidal burns." She mused, looking to her own scarred palms. "Draw forth again."

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

If my student power gamed, I'd reteach them the spell they misunderstood, and assume it was a fault of my own. I'd take care to explain it more carefully, and ask if there was any more confusion. If it happened again and was a different spell, I'd ask them why they continued to do it. Depending on the answer, I'd start them over from the beginning and reteach them everything again, or drop them as a student and tell staff. On the third incident, I'd drop them as a student and tell staff.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Ghosts are the spirits of deceased descendants, bound to the living world by trauma, tragedy or sheer stubbornness. Either way, these spirits linger, and over time change.

The first stage is that of a revenant, a new spirit just having escaped from the clutches of death. Not yet masters of their form, they exist as grayscale apparitions, prone to fading in and out of existence with little control over it. They are weak, and prone to confusion.

The two other stages are polar opposites. The enraged poltergeist, and the peaceful specter. Since I hope to take the path of poltergeist and have played a spectre for 7 years, I will explain that in detail. Poltergeists are driven mad with rage, unable to find anything they like in the world around them. Their hatred has consumed them, leaving them as a bitter, insufferable creature with a hideous appearance. They carry an aura of anxiety and malaise around them, extending 5 meters, their psyches ravaged to mental illness.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look? 

My character died in childbirth. She will carry a false infant with her, still and silent, doing no more than an inanimate object would and simply a part of her. Additionally she'll have a rather large wound on her stomach, from the emergency c section preformed before her death.

Chapter 1

[Cat 1:1] The revelation of the Golden Beast was revealed by the Angel, who made itself known to Dumachas, of the Sisters of Xion, a crow among its blessed choir and the Crow Mother's favored daughter.

[Cat 1:2] Fortunate is he that reads these words, or hears them spoken, and may he remember the warning when the time comes.

[Cat 1:3] Blessed was such a vision granted unto her, though grim in its appearance. Ashen fields greeted Dumachus, burned and ravaged by clouds of locusts and mortal raiders alike.

[Cat 1:4] The earth had turned to dry dust, no longer graced by a root or drop of rain. The fruit trees stood barren or with rotting fruit, spoiled on the branch before they had ripened.

[Cat 1:5] The earth did rumble, a golden beast emerging from the plagued soil.

[Cat 1:6] With great amazement, Dumachus watched the beast crawl forth. It had four great wings, three of which it used to move, and the fourth of which grasped a bell larger than any home.

[Cat 1:7] Dumachus looked up to the beast's face, and fell to her knees in awe.

[Cat 1:8] It's face was graced by a long snout, not unlike a hound. Feathers the color of pure gold and snow covered its body, glistening untainted in the sun. It's eyes blazed like the fires of the hearth.

[Cat 1:9] The Golden Beast turned to Dumachus, and spoke aloud in a voice like thunder:

[Cat 1:10] "Fear not, for I have not come to harm. I come for peace, not war. I have come with a great mercy to grant to all that will accept. Come children of Horen, of Malin, of Urguan, of Krug. I am the peace and the storm, and the peace and the chaos. I am the warning of what is to come, and what cannot be avoided."

[Cat 1:11] "Write the things I shall show you, for all who has eyes to see with, and read them for those who have ears to hear. Spread this warning across the corners of the land, to all those who will listen and those who will not."
 

Chapter 2

[Cat 2:1] And so Dumachas watched as The Golden Beast soared on his three wings, and rung his great bell to those who lay suffering in the dust below.

[Cat 2:2] He called out in a voice like rushing waters, "Come to me, all those faithful. Come to the Skies, to paradise. Raise your hands to me and I shall come."

[Cat 2:3] Many did raise their hands, and their mercy was swift. Their souls were parted from their bodies where they lay, and left to fade to nothing.

[Cat 2:4] Not all did, and many men and women gathered from the four corners of the land to raise arms against His immaculate mercy, with the aid of many Aenguls who refused to see what was coming.

[Cat 2:5] They gathered under the banners of the lion, the stag, and the weasel, seeking courage, righteousness and swiftness against the inevitable end.

[Cat 2:6] The Golden Beast saw this, and said without raising a fang to them, "So let it be."

[Cat 2:7] The bannermen gathered in their numbers, and went to the place the Golden Beast was granting his mercy.

[Cat 2:8] The Lions took the power of the sun, and the Stags used their words to harden the hearts of those who may raise their hands to the Golden Beast, while the Weasels sought to restrain them by force alone.

[Cat 2:9] Many fought them, but it was in vain, for they had received the greatest curse of all; True Immortality.

[Cat 2:10] They would never be allowed to accept the Beast's great mercy, no matter the wound they would heal and raise their arms once again to fight.

[Cat 2:11] With a crack of thunder, a great light fell upon the Golden Beast's back, casting him to the earth from which he came.

[Cat 2:12] The Lions, Stags and Weasels fell upon him, ripping his feathers free and tearing his skin, setting him aflame: And yet, The Beast did not raise a tooth or wing against them.

[Cat 2:13] As The Beast died, his blood covered the earth like a flood.

[Cat 2:14] And He Who Burns rose.

Chapter 3

[Cat 3:1] Dumachus watched on with great wonder, the once Golden Beast rising from his grave, burning and flayed.

[Cat 3:2] No longer able to fly, he crawled forth, ringing his bell for all to hear. Crimson poured endlessly from his wounds until the little ones had to swim or be carried.

[Cat 3:3] His voice rose above the pouring, like crashing thunder, "COME TO ME, THOSE FAITHFUL. COME TO THE SKIES, TO PARADISE. RAISE YOUR HANDS TO ME AND I SHALL COME."

[Cat 3:4] And so he wandered the earth, bringing his sickly sea wherever he went, and those Bannermen following and ripping at his bare wings.

Solaria rest her head in her hands, struggling to wrap her head around the whole thing. The more she thought back to memories and the kindness the woman had shown her, the more her head hurt. She grabbed for a bottle, uncorking it with a grumble.

The Gymnasium: A Cult of Vanity and Indulgence

Mali’thill hold the Maehr’sae Hilyun’ehya close to their heart, the progress and health of the community over that of the individual. Which makes the fact a cult of lust and selfish vanity is seen as acceptable. Men with bare chests and even thighs roam the city, shouting and dribbling an ocean’s worth of sweat. Erecting statues of the harems of women they claim to have, spending years dedicated to nothing but building more muscle.

They are fully capable of building their bodies in other ways, though labor to benefit the state. Yet they crowd in buildings that reek of body odor, buildings they profess to be churches.

It’s clear this gymnasium is a religious cult, one that focuses on not the worship of any deity, but one’s own body. The pursuit of vanity in favor of progress for the whole, of lust and bodily pleasures.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Specters, spirits that have aged and accepted their death with acceptance and grace, are direct opposites of Poltergeists. While they still suffer from their undeath, they suffer far less than poltergeists do. Prone to depression and grief, as well as a tendency of feeling detached from the world around them, yet extremely unlikely to slip into violence. In fact, most are repelled by violence, yet will act if properly motivated. Whatever negative emotion they feel does not define their existence as it does a poltergeist. At their worst they may become mischievous pranksters. They often speak in soft tones, perhaps with a bit of an echo yet normally pleasing to mortal ears. Their forms are often without flaw, and take on the colors of blue, white or even green.

Fae was killed by a close friend, the pain of betrayal anchoring her to the mortal world. Once she uncovered the truth of what became of her, she began her path to becoming a poltergeist, but was calmed by her still living children. A neutral being, she wanders and observes the world as it passes her by, always seeking a missing piece of herself long forgotten.

Aradia Soulheart, daughter of a long erased Haelunorian heroine paused in her toil to read the missive as it was passed around under the torchlight. It would soon be pulled from her filthy hands, laughter replacing the sounds of picks for a while.

She would sit in her bed after the day’s work was complete, body exhausted but mind racing as she stared at the tattered gray banner. Moreso, the silver crest that decorated it. Maybe a visit wouldn’t hurt.

As Starfelt said, what about the heat involved? And ice may be hard to set on fire, but that implies combustibles wouldn’t be used. Either way, that wasn’t my really point. What about the 60,000+ years of suffering that would pass for them?

This is a problem and will break characters completely if RPed correctly.

You describe it as ‘eons’ passing but lets say every 10 seconds is a year from the perspective of the trapped witch. There are 604,800 seconds in an OOC week. That’s 60,480 years of pure suffering.

That’s for a death able to be caused by anyone with a torch, rope and maybe wood or alcohol or whatever’s flammable.
