    The Silvervein Clan Crest, 1754

To a Silvervein there is no difference between superstition, Science, religion and magic.

    Silvervein Description

Silverveins usually have Jetblack, Orange or Gray hair with blue or grayish eyes. their diverse looks come from their background of being a mix of Frostbeard and Irongut/ireheart. Despite this, Silverveins have a lot of physical similarities in their clothes such as a preference to wear light blue clothing, as well as all Silverveins wearing a Neck Ring out of Silver. To this neck ring a line and personal Runestones can be attached as symbols of a task they are sworn to complete. Silverveins are also usually found with their Hounds, one of which each member has.

Silverveins are Thinkers, Tinkers, Engineers, crafters and scholars. They live in Laboratories usually constructed in the cities or near the mountain peaks. These Laboratories are as much practical workshops as they are homes for the clan where they can meet and live. Silverveins unlike many Dwarves usually like to spend a lot of time outside the mountains in the high peaks where they make camps, complete trials and perform rituals. as well as do their crafting if they set up their laboratory there.

Silverveins are also a very free clan muchly because their homes in the mountain peaks allow it and their connection with the Frostbeard clan. However unlike frostbeards, Silverveins don’t start rebellions or are aggressive in their freedom. Silverveins view all their relationships as Friendships, to other clans or kingdoms or even to the Nation of Urguan. if by a friend they are treated well, have friendly terms and so on, then they will be the best of friends and fiercely loyal. give gifts, host feasts and stand up for their friends no matter what. If however a friendship is toxic the Silverveins will leave it, if this means stopping interactions with a clan or moving from the Dwarven capital to their mountain peaks, the Silverveins won’t stand anyone infringing on their freedom.

Silvervein Warriors have the finest armour crafted by their kin and train tirelessly in the arts of hunting, combat and surviving the harsh climates of mountain peaks. The best warriors become Silver Rangers, an elite order of the Silvervein fighters.

Silvervein Engineers and Smiths are not afraid to use all kinds of knowledge to their advantage, including magical, nature and symbolic rituals, it's common for Silvevein dwarves to make charm runes and put on their work station for luck and blessings from Yemeker and other Braths.

Their key eye for both science and nature leads a lot of Silverveins down the road to learn herbalism and this can then be applied to the Silverveins profession in any way that might bring them advantage, such as elixirs and alchemy, to heat flames further for crafting or for healing.

    I HISTORY

    Spoiler

    Axios

It is a well-known myth the founding of the Silvervein clan, not only among its members but also other dweds and even as far as other races, however, it is not often facts of life survive the onslaught of time. as such I wish to explain the events in detail so that future generations of the clan will know the truth that transpired.

It all began with the Frostbeard clan, the grandchild of the great Gorum Frostbeard had a child, Edel. the father's name was Throri Frostbeard. the Frostbeard clan had long attempted to break free from the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and with the successful establishment of Kaz’ulrah their goal was realized. however not all Frostbeards were happy and Throri took his children and left the clan and founded the Stonemace clan in Urguan. Edel at the time was in the mountains of Jornheim reflecting on his life, and he was enraged finding his children and brothers and sisters gone with his traitorous father.

Edel Frostbeard would hunt down Throri and demand a duel of honor, where he and Throri fought, it looked like Throri would win, but laying on his son he’d attempt and take a knife cutting Edel’s face open. this was his mistake as Edel would throw off his father and quickly defeat him in combat. taking pity on his father Edel would leave the arena to later learn his cowardice father had kept the clan and his children in Urguan. this was also the time where Edel and his siblings learned that Throri, their father had attempted to sleep with and rape their sister Thelma.

Edel would take claim to the title of Clanfather, and after a vote was held before the king of Kaz’ulrah Verthaik II and other prominent Dwarves Edel was Elected Clan Father of the Stonemace clan. his first action was to be to reunite the clan with the Frostbeard clan. However, the high king of Kaz’ulrah decided that Edel can keep the clan, and so he did. He  changed the clan completely, and named it the Silvervein Clan, as their honor was as pure as the silver veins in the mountains

The young clan would begin a kinship with their brother clan of Frostbeards, together they would conduct hunts for servants, and after Edel witnessed the brutal eating of his Halfling Translator he was determined to put all halflings under his protection, by enslaving them. the haflings resisted and managed to drive off the Silvervein and Frostbeard forces with the help of powerful druids.

The Silvervein clan then began establishing its culture: Trials, Sigil, Oaths, Most of the culture was made, designed, thought, and implemented by Norkai Silvervein, but the Frostborn trial is after the old splinter of the Frostbeards, and many dwed would join the clan through its completion. It was also around this time the hunt for the traitor Throri would ramp up, with his capture several times, however, he was still protected by the Urguan Legion he managed to trap Edel’s Daughter, Tesel Silvervein in the gatehouse of Kal’Omith the Urguan capital, where he with a crossbow attempted to kill her, the young lass managed to survive with her shield and an Irongut named Bolgnir came to save her.

Shortly after Throri attempted to fool the clan that he’d surrender but instead he ran and gathered the Legions of Urguan under the command of Frerir Irongrinder who would attack the unarmed Silverveins this would lead to a grudge being placed upon Frerir Irongrinder who in order to lift the Grudge would challenge Edel to a duel of Combat, which Edel would win. this would be the start of the war of the Beards as king Zharerir Irongrinder would break his oath to hand over the traitor Throri to the Silverveins for trial against his crimes.

During this war, the Silverveins would famously fool Zahrer to settle his grudge and pay them huge amounts of money to stay loyal to Kaz’Ulrah, by swearing an oath worded in such a way that it confused the king. But dark clouds would brew for the Silverveins, their trusted Forstbeard allies would turn on them and Edel’s uncle Hamnil would convince many Silverveins to return to their Frostbeard roots.

This along with the great drinking would destroy the clan, most of the clan was either Frostbeards or had drunk themselves to death those who remained called themselves Mugbeard, lead under Thalrim Silvervein. but by chance, the traitors who left for the Frostbeard clan realized the Tretury of Hamnil and asked Edel to once again lead them. Edel accepted and went to his uncle to ask formally to become a vassal clan under him but Hamnil refused. Determined not to let his kin down Edel secured their place as vessels of the Blackaxe clan, where the Silverveins proved themselves during the war of the Beards and was rewarded in becoming a clan once more. and for the first time in the Silverveins history, they had their own clan hall as well.

When the Silverveins were reformed they went into the Blue Silver Concordat with the Stormfist clan, making them a permanent part of the clan the clan fathers of the Stomfists would become Elders and the clan would be known as the Stormvein bloodline. Shortly after the joining, Boreas Silvervein decides to implement the Casts system, the most unique thing about Silverveins until Dwarger decided to get rid of the system many years later. Edel would soon think of it as a mistake, as the intensity between Frostbeards and Silverveins would grow. Edel in an attempt to calm things down would step down as Clan Father and let Boreas lead the clan. After several attempts to broker peace with the Frostbeards and the Silverveins being forced to throw out the Frostbeards from their clan hall as well as several brawls, a total Clan war would begin.

Boreas would be found murdered in the Frostbeard clan hall, with Hamnil being the prime suspect, after him Thalrim would be elected as clan-father but he would be murdered by Hamnil shortly after who claimed Thalrim was an undead. This awful deed would be made shortly after the wedding of King Verthaik and no punishment would be cast upon Hamnil for the crime. Seven more Silverveins were be found dead around Kaz’ulrah and the clan in desperation elected the legendary miner Glenn Silvervein as Clanfather. Glenn managed to make peace with the Frostbeard clan. and lead the Silverveins into a golden age before leading them over from Axios to Atlas.

    Atlas

Upon ariving to atlas, under the rule of Glenn Silvervein, Silverveins were treated honorfully, until, one day, Glenn was lost in the mines. That very day, Edel was elected clanfather of the Silvervein clan once more, and begun leading the Silverveins in military operations and growing their presence in the kingdom, hostilities would begin to form again between Frostbeards and Silverveins and upon the death of Verthaik the second, Hamnil Frostbeard would be elected king of Kaz'ulrah, due to their grudge against Hamnil and his attacks on the Silvervein clan where the Frostbeards would attempt murder on Edel Silvervein. At the year of 1649 Edel and Grilthram Grandaxe would decide to leave the dying city of Kal'Tarak, as they implemented the Darus Krom and became an Confederation of Clans they renamed the Kingdom of Kaz'ulrah into the Confederation of Two hammers, denounced Hamnil as a false king and moved the Capital to Karak'a'Azgaryum Later, the Cottonwoods, under the rule of Boldrumir Cottonwood had also joined the Confederation Of hammers.

Kaz'ulrah, and the orcs of Krugmar have raided the confederation multiple times, and hadn't won any of the raids. Edel had decided to step down as clan father, and Gimli "The Young" Silvervein, was elected as new clan father. Gimli took care of some business out of  the confederation, and was gone for two years. In that meantime, he made Thumril Silvervein a temporary clan father (Thumril wasn’t chose in a legitimate vote, hence why he isn’t in the clan fathers list). Few stone days later, Edel has disappeared into the blizzard. When Gimli returned, he decided to rename the clan to the Emberbanes, and to change all of the clans traditions. This act, has angered many of Edel's children, who decided to stay with their Silvervein name, Merek for example. Due to the constant raids from Kaz'ulrah, The Emberbanes and Hammerforges have decided to unite into one clan, the Grandaxes, and rejoin Kaz'Ulrah.

Years later, upon Edel's returning, he reformed the Silvervein clan, and his eldest son, Dwarger would leave the Grandaxes, and join him. Edel then decides to step down as clan father, and Varrick Silvervein, bringer of the Nastrada bloodline, was chosen to be the new clan father. Some years pass, and Zokhamli "The Expander" was chosen to be the new clan father, under Zokhamli's rule, and with Dwarger's help, the clan has grown bigger than ever before, and has entered their second golden age. Many hostilities were still held upon the Silvervein, and Zokhamli had managed to fix almost most of them. Zokhamli also decided to cancel the Blue-Silver Concordat, because of the Stormfists clan fathers wish. Then Zokhamli decides to travel, and step down as clan father, and Dwarger "Saviour" Silvervein is chosen to be the new clan father, and under his rule, Silverveins have kept growing, and were half of the Kaz'Ulrah vanguard. Dwarger then decides all casts need a reformation: To the warrior cast, Rangers were added. To the scholar cast, Alchemists, and the Remembrances were added. To the worker cast, Smiths, builders and miners  were added. During the Ord rebelion, the Silvervein clan was rather neutral, but more on Kaz'ulrahs side. When the war was basically over, even before it started, Dwarger was chosen to be the high marshal of Kaz'ulrah, and was the first Silvervein council member.

At the date of 11th of Sun’s Smile, 1680, Dwarger had decided to put an end to all of the old rivalries with the Cottonwood clan, and with the help of the Cottonwood Chief: Bjor “Sagurtits” Cottonwood, they formed the Silver-Wood Alliance. An alliance which stopped and past problems, and will stop any problems in the future. During his time as clan father, Dwarger decided to build a Silvervein Village, and name it Kal’Thry. It was built at the edge of Garronds vale, and was planned by Zurghamli and Buernoc. At 1683, Edel Silvervein, in elections that shocked most of the dweds of Kaz’ulrah,  was chosen to be Kaz’Ulrah’s High king, making him the first, and at the time of writing the only Silvervein King to ever be. Three stone days later he was denounced by the former queen of Kaz’ulrah, and in a vote he was impeached with only clan Goldhand disagreeing to the impeachment and voting against it. The reasoning behind Korallon’s decision, is that Edel got kidnapped and shaved by the humans of the Orenian Empire. Even the Silvervein clan, under Dwarger has voted for the impeachment, Dwarger never stated the reasoning behind his decision.

At the year of 1684, Dwarger had decided to bring back the Silverveins to their true home. At the year of 1684 Dwarger had decided to bring the Silverveins back to their roots. At the year of 1684 Dwarger had decided return the Silvervein to the Confederation of Hammers, with the entire clan but Jadron, Dwarger’s Uncle, agreeing. His decision was treated badly and poorly in the Kingdom Of Kaz’Ulrah, quickly evicting the Silvervein Clan hall. Dwarger didn’t really care about Kaz’Ulrah anymore, hence why he didn’t give a single **** about any of it. In the Confederation though, the Silvervein were welcomed back with open arms. Doing this action made Dwarger one of the founders of the Council of Agnarum.

At the date of 8th Of Deep Cold, 1685, the legendary Dwarger Silvervein, had stepped down as father, an act which surprised all members of the clan. Urist Silvervein took his place, former Workers Cast head and Clan Harrold. Urist made Dwarger and Glenn II his Harrolds, which made Dwarger the only Silvervein to be Harrold three times. Before stepping down, Dwarger made the first Silvervein Relic: “Dwarger’s Castrater”, A knife made out of a giant leech’s tooth, which Dwarger used to cut said leech balls off.  Dwarger had decided to step down while the Silvervein clan kept growing, and their golden age had continued during his days as clan father.

Urist, as the new clan father, became the first Silvervein hammer, in the newly named Confederation Of  Agnarum. The renaming was the result of the Kingdom of Bogrin and the Confederation of Hammers deciding to merge as they had similar goals like achieving Dwarven unity. Urist had decided to make his harrold, former clan father, Dwarger the Silvervein thane, making him the second Silvervein hammer. 3 years after he was chosen, Urist decided to step down for unknown reasons. During his reign, alot of the clan members disappeared into the wilderness, Glenn II, the harrold for example, hence giving him the title “The Destroyer”. Between the Silverveins disappearing, Jadron is included, Edel’s brother. Dwarger had did his best to keep the clan alive, he brought many of his own sons and daughters to the clan, hoping to keep it alive. With Urist stepping down Dwarger was chosen to be the clan father yet again, making him the only clan father to be chosen twice (Edel wasn’t chosen the next two times, he revived the clan). He decided to make Mervel and Korvak his harrolds, and name Korvak a Clan Elder. Before stepping down, Urist decided to make his own relic: “Urist’s Walking Sticks”.

At the year of 1690, the almighty Glenn Silverein, the first, has returned from the mines, he quickly went back to the mines. Dwarger gave him Clan Elder title, and made him incharge of the clan economics. During the Third Atlas Coalition war, the Silverveins alongside the Kingdom of Agnarum remained neutral, however, during the Siege of Nordengard, the Clan Father, Dwarger, decided to help the Anti-Empire Coalition. At the year of 1692, Mervel has disappeared to learn alchemy, during a tavern gathering, a probably drunk Dwarger decides to make Urist his harrold, the decision remained however, even after Dwarger wasn’t drunk. At the year of 1694, Dwarger finally found out who killed Boreas Silvervein. Years after his murderer, it turns out the murder wasn’t a murder, but a suicide. Later that year, Dwarger decided to sign an alliance along side the Stormfists. The alliance was later known as The Alliance Of Silver-Storm. At the year of 1695, Dwarger has decided to replace Korvak as the 2nd Silvervein, and make Urist “The Destroyer” Silvervein, the 2nd Silvervein hammer. During the next couple of years nothing major happens, until the Fourth Frostbeard Rebellion. It started as a raid on the newly constructed front gate of Agnarum. Three Silverveins defended fiercly during that raid, but in a failed charge attempt they were defeated. It taught Dwarger many, and such mistake wasn’t repeated.

At  9th of Sun’s Smile, 1699 Dwarger changed the clan. He removed casts,  and changed the Trials. At the year of 1702, Kal’Azgaryum was a attacked… by a giant mutated, double headed spider. Dwarger, fearlessly defeated the creature, almost by himself, how? He rode the damn thing chocked it, and ripped one of its heads off. After the incident, the spider turned into a giant steam cloud, cooking Dwarger, in which, he almost died.  At the year of 1705, Dwarger decided to make his uncle, Jadron Silvervein his second Harrold, and announced that he will be stepping down as clan father soon.

    Arcas

Upon landing at Arcas, the Silvervein’s, lead by Dwarger started dwindling in numbers. Four years after landing on Arcas, the Silvervein’s went through a major change. The whole clan culture was changed: Falcon became the new representative animal, the sigil was changed, axe became the major weapon of the clan, and much more.

At the 7th of Sun’s Smile, 1713, the Clan Legend, Dwarger Silvervein stepped down as clan father. After 25 years of service. His place took Mervel Silvervein, who will always be known for not attending the election he won. To that elections, many new Silverveins have arrived, giving Dwarger hope, that he left the clan in good hands. Shortly after becoming Clan Father, Mervel decided to make the two Clan Legends, Zokhamli and Dwarger his thanes.

At the year of 1719 Mervel “The Disgraced” Silvervein Frostbeard stepped down as clan father, and left the clan. By doing so he became an oathbreaker, and a grudge was declared, as a result, he was banished from the clan. At the 5th of Sun’s Smile, 1722 after a heated debate between the three candidates, Urist Howler and Kimarai, each explaining his point of view Urist. ended up winning after many of the dwarves voting decided to change their vote. He made Dwarger, Zokhamli and Bazdel his thanes. After many years of silence, the Silverveins once more became dominant, with old clan-mates returning, such as Kiblo and Glenn, new ones joining, and with Dwarger getting positions within the Under-Realm’s leadership.

It wasn’t long after this massive change and burst in returning members, that the Silvervein Clan slowly started to disappear from this face of the earth and became a nothing among the forgotten clans. Yet in the year of 1754, one of the oldest living clan members called Jadron Silvervein returned to the dwarven city and spoke with the “last silvervein” Dwarger. They agreed upon returning the clan to its former self and Jadron has since then ruled the clan as Clan Father towards a more original and correct Silvervein Clan.

The members of the clan would soon after dissapear once more before they slowly returned to Urguan,  Wharan the Clan protector and Dwarger would in an Clanfather Election get equal votes and as such they would duel for the title. Wharan would win and reform the clan, establishing alot of lose traditions into a more firm Clan idientity.

    II TRADITIONS

    Silvervein Trails

First Silvervein Trial is to forge a mighty weapon, this is to resemble the workers part of the clan. Clan father, or clan elder will inspect the weapon, and decide if the beardling has passed.

The second Trial is to duel a warrior of the clan (rules decided not by the beardling). This is to resemble the warrior part of the clan. A Clan Father or Clan Elder will watch the duel and decide if the beardling has passed.

The Third trial is to hunt an impressive beast, this resembel the Ranger part of the clan. when returning with a trophy of the beast the Clanfather or clan Elder deside if the beardling passed.

Finally, after completing all trials the beardling is to take a blood oath over the Fire Oath in front of the clan.

    The Silver Oath

For as my veins are of silver,

I shall aid those of silver,

Honor my clan, my father, and my elders.

I shall swear loyalty to the clan of Silver, and my kin of blood

And protect that blood from harm to come.

For I am a Silvervein of Silver Blood

    Worrior Traditions

    Spoiler

    Axes and their meaning

The axe is the main weapon of the Silverveins. The beardlings and simple clan members use a simple one-handed axe, and a shield, which they craft by themselves (alongside with help, if needed) And the Elders, Thanes, and Clan Father get to use a specially crafted two-handed axe, which is also crafted by themselves. The axe means a lot to the Silverveins and is important almost as their beard. If a clan member happens to lose his axe, he is dishonored as much as a shaved dwarf. The only way to regain your honor is through the Frostborn trial. After completing the trial, they need to either reclaim it or simply craft a new one. Incase a two-handed axe was lost (An Elder, Thane, or Clan Father axe)  the owner of the axe must reclaim the axe within a year (Irl Week), otherwise they will be forced to step down, (incase of Thane or Father), and they can't be chosen again for another 20 years. However if they are a Clan Elder, they will not lose that title.

After every major battle (aka warclaim) a Silvervein carves a notch on the handle of his axe, indicating that he had attended the battle. The more notches a Silvervein has, the more respected he becomes.

Another weapon Silverveins commonly use is small throwable axes-being their major ranged weapon. They are commonly referred to simply as Throwing Axes.

    Awooga

Awooga, dating back all the years to the original Confederation of Hammers, the Awooga battlecry is believed to be first shouted by Dwarger Silvervein during one of the Frostbeards raids on Karak-A-Azgaryum.

    Silvervein Traditions and Rituals

    Spoiler

The Silverveins have a strong line of traditions that date back all the way to Axios and have been expanded and refined during the years. Here are some of the rituals and traditions that you may find within the Clan.

    Keeping a Journal

Keeping a Journal is a proud Silvervein tradition and it allows the members to record all personal discoveries made and add notes and information about the areas they explore and beasts and nature they discover. This journal is also used to record wrongs and grudges the dwarf encounters in the world. when they return to the Clan they sit down with the Clan and recite their discoveries and everything new is added to the Great book of Silverveins.

    The Wolf

The wolves are an important part of the Silvervein lifestyle, and there are several bounding rituals with the creatures. a Silvervein will cut their hand and drag their blood across their first puppies face letting it lick the wound. This will create a bond of blood between the hound and its owner.

if a Hound is wounded and can’t recover the Silvervein must slay his own hound, no one else is allowed to do it for them. the blood from the dead hound must then be put on the face of the new puppy to ensure the new hound has the same loyalties as the last. The same goes for if a hound is killed. if the Silvervein only hound is killed and its blood lost the Silvervein must redo the bonding ritual once more with a new puppy.

    Details of the bonding ritual

First find a new born hound that you feel connected to, you then take the hound from an early age from its mother and place it in a basket. kill rabbits and other smaller animals and prepare them for the puppy to eat in the basket. you then build a circle of candles around you and the basket with runes in cole saying your and the puppies name. Once this is completed make sure you have a knife at hand because you can’t leave the circle. cut your hand and place your palm on the puppy's snout, repeat its name and your name before lifting the puppy to your face and meeting its eyes. if you meet its eyes then the two of you are bound, if not you must repeat until successful.

    Details of the rebonding ritual

preferably have a puppy from your old hound, if not find a good puppy you feel connected with, get a bowl of blood from your old hound. you must paint the new puppy's face with three lines going towards the snout. you then name the new puppy the same as the name of your old hound to ensure its loyalty remains in the blood and name. with this you have bounded with your new puppy.

    Runes, Sacrefice and candles

    Spoiler

    Runes

There are two kinds of Rune Rituals in the Silvervein clan, there are the Runes scribed in the Holy stone to symbolize great change, these runes are used when the Clan begrudge someone and are carved in the large stones surrounding the ritual center of the Clan.

The other kind of rune ritual is more personal, a Silvervein can carve a rune in a small stone with a hole thrown in it, the runestone then symbolizes a great personal task, such as a mission, a grudge or target. The rune is then attached to a necklace and is worn until the task is completed whereupon the rune is thrown into a fire to symbolize its completion.

It's also fairly common for Silverveins to make Runecharms, these are Objects made as a form of worship to certain Braths or to bring good luck or help them with morale and are usually kept around their work stations.

    Sacrifices

The Silverveins also occasionally capture different animals alive for sacrifice, this is mostly done by the Silver Rangers. and these are usually carried out to win favor with the brathmordikan or to celebrate. here are the following sacrifice rituals:

    Rabbit:

Rabbits and other small animals are sacrificed with their throat slit and blood put in a bowl, the dwarf or dwarves then take the blood and paint lines under their eyes and drink the blood to gain the small animals instincts.

    Bear:

Bears are Sacrificed by right of combat. a Silvervein usually a ranger is selected to sacrifice the Bear and are stripped naked on their upper body, they also get an axe and shield and the bear is released to fight the Warrior other Warriors can stand with spears and poke the bear to help kill it, but this is seen as weakening its strength. the Warrior kills the bear in combat and dips his axe in blood, the axe head’s side is then pressed against the Dwarves chest to mark him in blood and then the Warrior dips his hand into the bears blood and presses it against his face, and the face of any other Warriors present. This ritual grants those involved the strength of the bear.

    Boar:

Boar and other animals like it such as goats and rams can be captured and killed on a ritual stone, their blood then painted on the Dwarves forehead in a circle to gain the bitterness of the animal, this is usually done by tinkerers and engineers before starting a difficult project.

    Elk:

Elks and other large animals that are catched alive can be stored for Rituals, these rituals often take place over a large stone but if there is a lack thereof it can be over a table or large stump, any raised plato will do. The Animal is then strapped down and throat cut. with the blood two lines on each side of the nose are drawn on the chin running towards the nose. This is done on all Silverveins present to give them the speed of their prey.

    Blood paint

The blood paint rituals are Symbolic and spiritual rituals for the Silverveins, they coincide with the Animal sacrifices with one exception, the bonding ritual. A bonding ritual is a form of way for two Dwarves to show their loyalty to each other and this makes them blood brothers as well. they cut their hands and press their hand from the top of the forehead to the chin of the other Dwarf they are doing the ritual with, then they meet their hands to let their blood mix. This ritual is symbolic, being bound together and is a very personal ritual.

    Candle Rituals

There are three Candle rituals, all made for different aspects of crafting the first is that of focus and requires the dwarf to carve a single candle into the shape of a cone, they then prick their finger and let a drop of blood fall on the top of the candle before lighting it, the single candle then helps with Focus.

The ritual of productivity requires that you string lines between a row of candles, from the bottom of the first to the top of the next. you light the first candle and prick your finger then let the drop fall on the last candle this will help you with productivity.

Finally we have the ritual of energy, you make a candle dipped in honey and prick your finger letting a drop of blood fall on the candle before lighting it, this provides you with energy.

    Wolves and Silverveins

A big part of Silvervein life is having a Wolf, these loyal hounds are important as they help protect their owners, keep the Silverveins Company and act as loyal companions. Silverveins get their first Hound from an early age and they do everything together with them.

    III CLOTHING

Silverveins have a lot of physical similarities in their clothes such as a preference to wear light blue clothing, as well as all Silverveins wearing a Neck Ring out of Silver. To this neck ring a line and personal Runestones can be attached as symbols of a task they are sworn to complete.

    IV GENERAL APPEARANCE

Silverveins usually have Jetblack, Orange or Gray hair with blue or grayish eyes. their diverse looks come from their background of being a mix of Frostbeard and Irongut/ireheart. The Silvervein are mountain dwarves making them stocky and hardy because of this they are also taller than their cave dwelling counterpart.

    V GENERAL PERSONALITY

    VI NOTABLE SILVERVEIN

    Edel Silvervein

Edel Silvervein has done much more to the Silvervein clan then any other Silvervein, Dwarf, or any other living being. Edel had founded, and liberated the clan from Throri “Dishonorable” Stonemace, he signed the Blue-Silver Concordat,  he formed the Confederation Of Hammers, the true home of the Silvervein Clan, he revived the clan twice, and these are only few of his achievements.

    Thalrim Silvervein

Thalrim Silvervein, beside from being chosen to be the Clan father,  he had decided to stay loyal to his roots even during the darkest ages of the Silverveins he stayed loyal to his clan. Instead of joining the Frostbeards, he and few others decided to be Mugbeards, when Gimli changed the clan’s name to Emberbanes, Thalrim stayed loyal to the Silverveins. Besides staying loyal to his routs, when Edel revived the clan in the realm of Atlas, Thalrim helped him.

    Zokhamil Silvervein

Zokhamli Silvervein has done many things to the clan, he was chosen to be the clan father, changed the trials, and had made the clan bigger then ever before and he has calmed the winds with many former enemies of the clan, such as the Frostbeards.

    Dwarger Silvervein

Dwarger Silvervein is arguably the Silvervein to have done more to the clan then any other Silvervein but Edel. He was chosen to be clan father twice, has continued expanding the clan even after Zokhamli left, signed the Silver-Wood Alliance, brought the Silverveins back to their true home, to the Confederation. Years later Dwarger completely changed the Silverveins aswell and years after all his kin vanished, Dwarger still remained loyal to the clan.

“Generations of Dwarves, and we still stand, it takes more then Time to destroy us.”

The Silvervein Dwarves would gather in a small cave around Wharan Silvervein, son of Yorrick and cousin to the great Edel ‘honourable’ Silvervein, and across to him Dwarger ‘Saviour’ Silvervein, Eldest Child of the same Edel ‘honourable’ Silvervein. the two are there to Fight for the leadership of the Silvervein Clan, having received half of the votes each in a earlier held election. the Elders and beardlings of the clan crowded the cave in anticipation.

Wharan an Elder Dwarf at a few hundred years of Age have served as the clans protector for generations. he is a crafty large dwarf but his large stature was overshadowed by that of Dwarger, who is among the largest of Urguans children. their fight would not only be judged and seen by their kin but also the Brathmordikan.

one of the Silvervein Elders Urist would mark the beginning of the fight with a gesture and the aggressive Dwarger would immediately charge his prey, Wharan would steady himself holding up his shield and stop Dwarger in his track, a lesser dwarf would have been sent flying into the wall. it was now a competition of tolerance and strength with the two dwarves pushing their shields against each other.

Wharan realising he can’t match Dwargers strength for long  side step letting Dwarger’s force make him stumble forward to make him lose his footing, but Dwarger an experienced fighter quickly finds it again. swinging his axe towards Wharan who only narrowly manage to block its might with his shield. with Dwargers axe out of the way Wharan swings his own toward his opponents shoulder. Dwarger does no attempt to dodge the attack and the axe berries itself into Dwargers well made armour and then into his shoulder muscle.

Wharan would then go in to stun his opponent launching his head forward to headbutt Dwarger, however to little effect but a grin. Dwarger then lunch his own head forward pulling at the unprepared Wharan with his axe which is still stuck in Wharan’s shield to headbutt Wharan back. Wharan would get dizzy from Dwargers might but stay up. Dwarger would go in to headbutt Wharan again who would feel even more dazed then before. thinking quickly Wharan would kneel down and turn as Dwarger went in for a third headbutt using Dwargers force against him to threw him over his shoulder. Wharan would succeed and dwarger would fall over onto the ground his axe and wharans shield flying off to the side. Wharan then would lose his axe from Dwargers shoulder preparing for another swing that would never come. Dwarger after shouting out in pain from the axe being pulled out would enraged bash his shield at the undefended Wharan who’d fall to the ground dropping his axe. Dwarger would raise from his knees and start to make his way towards Wharan who also raises up and before Dwarger could react launched himself at him pulling away Dwargers shield and tackling him to the ground.

Wharan would position himself on top of Dwarger attempting to pin him down with his weight and his legs on top of Dwargers arms, Dwarger would move around to attempt and break free but Wharan wouldn’t let him, shouting for him to give up, but Dwarger would refuse. Wharan would then hit Dwargers face repeating himself where upon Dwarger would muster the strength to threw Wharan off, quickly with great speed Dwarger would jump up and on top of Wharan holding his arm back as to break it. wharan would recognize the position he was in and Dwarger just had to demand it once before Wharan gave up. knowing he’d be unable to fight back with a broken arm.

Dwarger would stand up in the cave his kin shouting his name in praise as their new leader. he’d breath heavily and look upon them all, then down on Wharan who had fought so well against him. Dwarger would feel his bleeding shoulder and with blood on his glove raise his hand towards the cave ceiling, saying to the crowed before him.

“No doubt Im the best here, but I have led the clan enough, for I failed to bring it back many times. Unless y’all consent Wharan is clan father he is good enough.”

Wharan would kneel before Dwarger who would stroke his forehead with his blood before laying his hand on the dwarves shoulder, and they would swear the Clanfather oath there in that cave. Dwarger would then congratulate Wharan and take his farewell before leaving. as Wharan rose it was as Clan Father of the Silvervein Clan and the kin, Elders and Beardlings would shout with Joy for the rebirth of their clan once more.

  5. Grudge Law

    7ME9X4i4AtPPbKqoXH8AUW_aV_dv2b-1Ktp3jaD9gfIfd6cLDJ3Gcr6qVuezScmKNFLPzZp3ODFVqKrkAkf7wAuJTWZaLJAm1kdC3QGMtvtKs_4C1Jv2odiFatpx15GklMjQQoja

“We do not Forget, or Forgive”

Grudges as a way of law

Grudges is the Dwarven Way of settling Disputes and Law, if anyone commit any crime a Grudge is Declared, this basically means that the begrudged will have to deal with the Grudges Concevences. the form of Grudge declared depends on the crime committed, but there are generally five types of Grudges:

    Personal Grudges

    Clan Grudges

    Godly Grudges

    Grand Grudges

    Dwarven Grudges

These forms of Grudges are dependent on who the offended party is and determines how the Grudge is Settled.

Grudges are not unofficial affairs but the Law of Dwarves. this means that Dwarves do not use the traditional Law system of Human and Elven kingdoms instead all crimes are resulted into a Grudge and depending on the offended party and the crime committed the grudge will be carried out in several different ways. this works as Dwarves have a large sense of honor and respect for one another.

Dwarven Grudges can be settled almost immediately or be carried on for Generations, an unsettled Grudge can only be resolved by the original offender and offended or their descendants with one exception, the King and Clergy together can resolve a Grudge in extreme cases, however this is rare as a Grudge is a personal affair and shouldn’t be meddled in.

    Personal Grudges

a Personal Grudge is the most Common form of Grudge, they are declared when any dwarf is offended and can be lituarly anything. the grudge is valid until settled. we will go into more detail in how the Grudge is Declared and Enforced further down but do know that it's up to the offended party of settle the grudge. this varies wildly depending on the crime committed, if a offender steals from a offended Dwarf and he declares a Grudge, the Grudge can be settled by the items being returned, a rite of combat or the intervention of the Clergy if the offended presents his case to them.

    Clan Grudges

Clan Grudges are Declared by a Clan Elder or Clan Father, and concerns an entire Clan. these usually are enforced by the Clan itself however they can also be presented before the Clergy. a Clan Grudge differ from a personal Grudge in that they regard an entire clan. these are therefore considered more severe and usually can be unsettled for longer. only Pure Dwarves may declare Clan Grudges.

    Godly Grudges

Godly Grudges are any Grudges Declared by the Dwarven Brathmodikan Clergy, and usually are enforced by themselves. these often but not always are related to heresy and other religious matters and are considered extremely severe.

    Grand Grudges

Grand Grudges are declared by the king, these are any Grudge Declared by the king appart from Dwarven Grudges, the King’s grudges usually surround his laws. any Laws Declared by the Dwarven king that is broken results in a Grand Grudge. the Grand Grudges are usually carried out by the Clergy on the kings behalf or sometimes the Armies of the king.

    Dwarven Grudges

Dwarven Grudges are Grudges declared by the entire Dwarven Race usually upon other kingdoms or races and is considered the largest kind of Grudge, they can only be properly declared by the King or the Clergy. these are settled by all Dwarves depending on the offence, threw war, raids or diplomacy.

    Grudges Against Noone

if a Crime is committed and the offended does not know who committed the offence a Grudge can still be declared against the guilty party. for example someone steals a dwarves Cows and the Dwarf don’t know who did it, a Grudge is Declared against the Cow thief and when its found out the identity of the Cow Thief  the grudge is applied to them. a Dwarf may get assistance from Local Guards with the investigation if the Clergy or king or Marshal see it fit to do so, however only Grudges confirmed by the Clergy or king may receive investigation help from the local guard. the begrudged then have to pay a Fine (75% to the king and 25% to the clergy) for the services of the Clergy or Guard in the investigation.

    How to Issue Grudges

a Grudge can be issued by anyone but depending on who issues the Grudge it determines what type of Grudge it is. a verbal begrudging is enough for then Grudge to be official, but often more serious grudges are taken to the Clergy to be Written down and if its a Major Grudge it will be recorded in the book of Grudges. the Clergy decides what is a Major Grudge but their Judgement can be overruled by the king if he see it fit to do so.  Grudges can also be issued to multiple people or a rank or group rather than a individual.

    How a Grudge is Enforced

Grudges are enforced by the Offended Grudge giver and they decide what it will take to settle the grudge as long as its within the Dwarven society norms. however any Grudgehaver may go to the Clergy to seek Advice or to have their Grudge enforced. if they wish to have the Grudge enforced the Grudge must first be judged by the Clergy, the king may also judge Grudges if he wishes. if the Clergy using the Darus Krom as a baseline see fit to enforce the grudge they will prepare a settlement if the grudgehaver agrees the sentence is carried out. if the grudgehaver does not find the settlement acceptable they may suggest settlements and the Clergy will decide if they support it, enforce it, or decline it.

The Clergy will often issue a fine for their services, this may or may not be part of their settlement of the grudge. if the grudge is found to be unfounded the Clergy will charge the Grudge giver with a fine for wasting their time, the fine is then split between the king and the clergy (king gets 75% and Clergy 25%) if the Grudge is found to be enforced the Clergy Fines the Begrudged for their services with the split again being (75% to the king and 25% to the Clergy) if the Settlement includes a Fine the Fine of the services is baked into this. (a fine of 200 minas to be given to the Grudge Giver may be supplemented with 50 minas for the services of the Clergy, meaning the Begrudged has to pay 250 minas in fines)

no Grudge may kill any other dwarf and any Dwarf who commits the crime of Kinslaying will be begrudged and have the Clergy decide their fate. Grudges can therefor never require a dwarves death.

Grudges Against Kings and high preceptor.

Grudges Against kings and High preceptor’s may seem impossible however they may be issued in all the forms above. as Kings and High preceptors can resolve any Grudge with their powers this seems hard. however this power has one exception and that's grudges against themselves. for Grudges against kings only the high preceptor with the support of the entire Clergy can Clear the Grudge or the original Grudge giver and their descendants. and for Grudges against the High preceptor only the king may Clear the grudge or the original Grudge giver and their descendants.

Grudges and none Dwarves and Half Dwarves

Grudges can only be made by pure Dwarves, if a person of a other race befalls a crime within the Dwarven realm they must go to the Clergy and request a Grudge is made on their behalf. the Grudge is then issued by the Clergy who carry out the grudge if they see it fit to do so. Half Dwarves also may not issue their own grudges but again must request a grudge be made by the Clergy, the difference is that once the grudge is issued by the Clergy the Grudge belongs to the half Dwarf who may settle it as he se fit, with or without the use of the clergy.

Grudge Law and the Darus Krom

Grudges Can never Go against the Darus Krom, this means they can’t kill a Dwarf, betray the king or harm a dwarves beard. when deciding whether or not to support a Grudge the Clergy often consults the Darus Krom. it is not required that the Darus Krom is consulted when it comes to the Clergy's Decision however a link between the Darus Krom and their Decision to support or not support a Grudge should be made in an attempted to justify the decision. a dwarf may also use their rights in the Darus Krom to Argue their innocence or why a Grudge should be enforced.

Grudge Law and the Kings Laws

as soon as a Law made by the King (or his council on his behalf) is broken a Grand Grudge is declared. this grudge generally draws its arguments and validity from the King's laws and not the Darus Krom. the Kings Law’s may not conflict the Darus Krom however they are not required to follow them. any offender of the kings law with a Grand Grudge will be placed in Jail before being taken to hearing by either the King or the Clergy where a punishment is settled upon. with the King’s permission other Dwarves may also uphold and judge his law.

Generally the King’s Law does not contain personal protection of property and safety, as this falls under the Grudge Law and Darus Krom. so crimes such as theft of private property or assault would be solved through the Grudge law with grudges being declared. the king's law are any laws outside of this that the King wishes enforced in his Realm, for example if the king Declares that outsiders wearing arms is considered a crime this would fall under the King’s Law and any outsider found with arms would have a Grand Grudge set upon them. the laws can however effect his citizens such as if a King’s law is declared making it illegal to possess drug substances in the king's Realm, any Dwarf found with such substances would be begrudged with a Grand grudge as well.

    Grudges and Guests and visitors

the Dwarven Realm will get visitors who conduct trade and do other business in the Dwarven kingdom. these people can be begrudged by any Dwarf for the usual reasons and like any Dwarf be held before the Clergy for their crimes committed. as a general Rule however the Visitors are much more harshly judged then Dwarves and people living within the Dwarven Realm, a simple Insult can be judged by the Clergy as a Crime worthy of Fines and as such any none Dwarf visitor to the Dwarven realm has to behave their best while there.

an other form of visitor are Guests. these are people invited to the Dwarven Realm by a Dwarf, and are as such protected from prosecution by their host, if they where to commit a grudge worthy act while in the kingdom of the dwarves the grudge would be shared between the guest and the host. any acts made that breaks the King’s laws or those of the Darus Krom (such as kinslaying or harming beards) are regarded as only made by the guest, and as such won’t be shared with the host. this is inplace to ensure Dwarves take responsibility for their guests to the Dwarven realm.

Any Visitor or Guest to the Dwarven Realm is protected from Assault, murder or robbery during their visit. any crimes committed against a visitor or guest of the Dwarves may be brought before the Clergy for justice, and the victim or his family is compensated for any injustice happening in the dwarven Realm. the king may also judge justice for his visitors and guests. breaking the hospitality of the Dwarves is considered a severe crime and is judged by the Clergy.

    Grudges and none Dwarf Residence

Grudges made on None dwarf Residence or Half Dwarf Residence of the Dwarven realm are handled like any other grudge, however punishments against them may be more severe if they are found guilty of a Grudge that befallen them. none dwarves are also in extreme cases viebal to death penalty if the Clergy se it fit, and in these cases the possessions of the begrudged is confiscated by the King. this can not befall Half dwarves as they are protected by their dwarven blood. however the King may issue exceptions if their Dwarven blood is proven to be insufficient to call them Dwarves at all.

Grudges, Guards and prevention of crime

There are situations where a Grudge is yet declared but a crime about to be committed, if an action against the Darus Krom, Grudge law or Kings law is about to happen any dwarf is within their right to stop it. the offender may be restrained if it is necessary however restraining someone wrongfully is a grudgworthy offence.

the King, Clergy, Clan officials (Clan Father or Clan Elder) or High ranking Officials of the military may order a imprisonment of a suspect for a time of 1 stone hour, this may be extended if a different authority or the king or clergy deems it necessary. (if a clan elder imprison someone and after 1 stone hour the Grand Marshal confirms the need, they together can extend it). wrongfully imprisonment is a grudgeworthy offence.

the prevention of a crime may never go against the Darus Krom unless it is absolutely without any reasonable alternative to stop a kinslaying. if this results in the death of the Dwarf about to commit the kinslaying this will still be considered kinslaying, the dwarf may be cleared but a grudge must be declared by the clergy and the Case closely reviewed.

High King Edel Silvervein steps forward to speak before the population of Kaz’Ulrah.

“My friends, brothers and sisters, my Dwedmar kin! I stand before you today as the bearer of dark news. A reactionary cabal within our government has seen fit to attempt a coup on the established government, an action which has already cost the life of a noble Dwarf, Dwifur Goldhand! Dwifur was murdered in cold blood by Hamlin Frostbeard for speaking out against the shadowy council’s attempt to usurp the government! This council was NOT made of the legitimate representatives of the seven clans, but a group of puppets and liars attempting to cling to power, save for a few true-blooded leaders, including noble Dwifur. I hereby denounce the elections they are trying to hold and declare them illegal! All loyal Dwarves of Ulrah, stand by your rightful king in these dark times, and do not fall to the treachery and deceit of the traitors involved in the coup.”

an Lone Dwarf would sit in his office the ink on his table diped by a feather as he writes a decree to the people that just elected him his face iluminated by a lone candle down in the mountains deep

Oi Edel Silvervein founder of the Silvervein Clan and newly Elected King of Kaz'ulrah would like to spread the word of welcome to my ralm, all dwarves of all clans will be welcome in the city of Kal'tarak under my protection, all people of all nations and races welcome to my raalm for mead and ravelry, but for those who bring arms and ill will to my gate, you will only find death and sorrow. a great celebration will be held for the people of Kaz'ulrah as they have elected a new king, Me. a Coronation will be held and a great feast enjoyed.

    Happiness to all.

    High King Edel Silvervein

  11. New beginnings an familiar face

The streets of Kal'Tarak would be crowded  with dwarves of all kind, Dark Dwarves  muttering about their secrets, Cave Dwarves carrying metals and scrolls and Mountain dwarves returning laughtingly from practice. Ulrah’s Warden; Edel Silvervein would make his way through the crowd, some Dwarves recognizing him and giving way to the one legged  Dwarf who  would then stand up on a box near the market. He'd clear his throat loudly, the hussel and bussel  of the streets would stop. Dwarves would turn to face the young dwarf whom would with his one good eye look over the crowd seeing many familiar faces. He'd stand silently for but a moment as the winds seldom heard in the caverns of Kaz'ulrah would be heard before the silence was broken by Edel himself as he addressed the crowd .

Edel silvervein would stand up once more and shout off the top of his lungs

    "Narvak oz Ulrah!"

Edel silvervein then jumps down into the cheering crowd a chant of “Narvak oz ulrah” echoing throughout the Dwarven halls as the one legged dwarf makes his way through applause and towards his tavern.

in the cold mountains near the Firelands Edel stands with his longtime friend he puts his hand on his shoulder "Oi gift ya t'is 'ere works'op me' friend" he then nods to the large golem with them "ya serve t'is lad now" the golem accolade his new Impera. Edel's Freind nods as Edel pats his shoulder slowly and walks off, he would take a deep breath looking into the with wall thundering outside. he takes the first step forward, towards the end of his journey into the blizzard never to be seen again.

  14. He is persistent to the truth and seak it out, he sometimes to my dismay keep it very true even when it would mud his own Dwarven clan. I think that he can be trusted with writing lore, as he is very read up on it already and as an older player has played a lot of it. also as for the comments I have seen here saying he writes about only himself, I believe that is taken way out of context seeing that he hadn't been a writer on the WT yet, and this is his application. of course his privet works will be of his own character and he would be consulted on gods of his expertise. that doesn't mean he would do that when he is on the WT.

Also in a Dwarven context at least what I heard from several sources other then Mateolog his character Baldin did partake in a large part of Wyrvun Dwarven rp, and hence Later Lore, but I wasn't there myself so can't tell for sure. I can also from my own experience say that I have told him to write down Lore regarding our Clan Silverveins and even in the beginning when he was in it more or less unwillingly and didn't really like it, he wrote down the history unbiestly.

of course, ALL people have some Biesty, but Mateolog is one of the people who control it better than most I meet. I'd count on him to write down lore if he stopped playing Dwarf went all out Elven and wroth about wars between us. I'd still say he'd give them justice.

You can say he has my Endorsement as a sound addition to the WT.
