    Character’s name: Jud Miller

    Character’s sex: Male

Character’s race: Highlander human - Raevir

    Character’s age: 20

    Biography:

In 1604, little Jud Miller began his life, born in an insignificant hamlet that relied on lumber work to get by, nestled in the western most border of Rytsburg, a barony in the Kingdom of Haense. His family was typical, his parents both weathered and hard working, and his two older brothers matching the diligent nature their parents have. From an early age, it was apparent to his mother in particular that he was a bit slower and would need more looking after than his brothers.

Jud's childhood was thus heavily curtailed. Anywhere he went, he was scrutinized and put under heavy surveillance due to his curiosity, clumsiness, and the difficulty he had learning basic lessons. Of course, the disadvantage he had was minor, though his mother saw it as a weakness. Especially as he grew into an adolescent, she was concerned of the people who would take advantage of his gullible, innocent character and became obsessively protective of him. In order to curb his desire to explore Axios, she withheld from him information and kept him even more uneducated than everyone else, condemning him to a fate of nothing more than manual labor.
But the lack of an education only made every bit of information about the world more enticing. He'd heard word of Undead attacks before, anecdotes about Vailor and even Athera, of rebellion, war, sieges, although all of it was in bits and pieces. Why did he have to be destined to years of menial labor, to eventually just settle down in the town he grew up in with a woman who he probably shared a distant relative with? He'd seen carriages going in and out of town before, where were they going? More out of impulse than anything else, he, at the age of seventeen, collected the basic necessities and climbed into a carriage that was primarily used for transporting supplies, offering the coachman a few meager minas to tag along.

Upon reaching Alban, the capital of the kingdom, Jud had only then realized the seriousness of his decision. However, he managed to make ends meet and survive for some time with the help of new friends, usually met in taverns. This new lifestyle was maintained for a couple more years, before he desired to see more of the world, as Alban only offered so much in terms of learning.

Personality Traits: Due to a lack of an education and, for the most part, experience, Jud is extremely gullible and innocent, easily made malleable by others. He's well-meaning, though takes time to understand the emotions of others, especially foreign races with 'strange' faces. Difficult to provoke, Jud rarely raises a hand to hurt anyone, unless to protect those he cares about or himself. Clever insults are for the most part ineffective on Jud, mainly because of his lack of comprehension for more metaphorical language. He is completely capable, though- just a bit more slow than average.

Ambitions: Jud's main pursuit is to gain knowledge, having grown up in a community that sheltered him from the world around him for so long. Being a simple man, he also wishes to perhaps one day own a few cattle, a couple dogs, and settle down with someone pleasant.

    Strengths/Talents:

    • The most blatant strength of Jud is his pure brawn. Though he's inexperienced with fighting, Jud is able to remain standing and endure more physical obstacles than most others.
    • Jud may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but his ability to focus clearly on one task at a time and block out anything distracting allows him to reach his objectives more quickly.

    Weaknesses/Inabilities:

    • His slowed reaction time is what many note first in fights or even in simple conversation with Jud. He operates on a different schedule than most others, his eyelids typically drooping and a dopey smile on his face. Aside from his personality, Jud’s size also inhibits him from being quick on his feet.
    • Despite his efforts to become more outgoing, still remains a gentle and unprovocative man, unless he believes someone’s life is truly endangered. He is hesitant to start a fight and often will only do so when it’s too late or hopeless. Even when in a fight, Jud tries his best to avoid landing any strikes on his opponent and assumes a rather defensive style.
    • Jud’s speech is filled with ‘uhm’s and ‘er’s as he stumbles along, always nervous of his, as he sees it, inevitable mistakes. His fear of coming off as strange or awkward extends further in all of his fumbling social interactions, which occasionally become a near torturous experience for him. This unending anxiety spawns a new set of problems outside of social related ones- his constant self-doubting, physical symptoms (trembling, sweating, increased heart rate), and terrible panic attacks created from built up stress all provide to be a daily challenge for poor Jud.
    • Sheltered for years and years, Jud is unaware of much of what the world has to offer. He knows naught of anything magical, and the countless cultures and races are endlessly confusing. One can easily trick Jud into believing something entirely false thanks to his eagerness to learn anything. When encountering something new, a frequent occurance, it can be expected of him to act completely inappropriately, or with an exaggerated reaction.

    Appearance:

Jud, though he stands at a hefty six feet and holds a broad figure, appears gentle and unassuming. His skin is tanned from working outside and dotted with freckles as well as marked with the occasional scar from accidents while working, his eyes a pleasant sea blue. A large nose sits proudly on his kind, wide face, and his lips are on the thinner side. The clothes he picks out for himself are simplistic and practical.
