The Renaming of Vira’ker

What we are doing is simply asking those we have diplomatic relations, pleasant and hostile, to speak and write of us by our real name, by the name we have always used ourselves, the Princedom of Vanmark.         The 8th of the Snow Maiden marks a day in which Vira’ker secedes the contract they had in place with the Trade State of Sutica. If any discussion wishes to be held between the council of Sutica and the Cabinet of Vira’ker, you may contact the people of vira’ker and we may organize a date but we see no benefit in strengthening a military that defends a man known as, ’Corwin.’ He had made treacherous acts on the Holy Orenian Empire and we do not support those actions. If said man were to turn himself in or step down from his position then we may discuss another possibility of working with the Trade state of Sutica. We do not condone villainous and treacherous actions. As acted out by the High Prince, he wishes to give people a second chance who are willing to change. Unfortunately Corwin has insulted the people of Oren and he will pay for  accosting the people of Oren.

        The continued refusal for diplomatic relations to resolve the affronts to the suzerainty of the Principality of Vira’ker has rendered the continued existence of Vitenna as a direct affront to the state. It is no longer both politically nor geographically tenable for the Principality of Vira’ker to retain anything beyond hostile relations with a neighbour that refuses to interact through any diplomatic channel. 

It is from the publication of this edict that a state of war will exist between the Principality of Vira’ker and Vitenna, any Vitenna-resident national and allies who participate in the defense of Vitenna will be rendered an enemy of Vira’ker.

It is the duty of the prince to respond to aggressions to his people and there is no clearer path than a scorched earth.

A state of war will continue until the following is achieved;

1.  The surrender of Max Edwards and all else in governance of the state of Vitenna to the Principality of Vira’ker.

2.  That those comprising the military of Vitenna be relieved of their posts and said military disbanded.

3.  That the House of Napoliza be discontinued and all such vassals relieved of their obligations.

4.  That the state of Vitenna be disbanded and said lands ceded to the Principality of Vira’ker.

-Vira and Sutican delegates, chiefly the High Prince and Trade King, officiate the union, 1772.-

This treaty, written to officiate the union of the Seaguard of Vira’ker and the Sutican Watch, lays out the terms and intentions of this pact. Written below are the terms:

1.  In terms of defensive cooperation and peacekeeping operations in the South, the Sutican Cerulean Watch will be considered part of the Seaguard, operating under the name of the ‘Cerulean Brigade’ along with the Vira'ker based ‘Navy Brigade’.

2.  The Cerulean Brigade will operate under the direction of its current captain, Mika Goldhand. He will report to the Commander of the Seaguard, but may petition the Trade King if any matters - not deemed in Sutica’s interest - arise.

3.  The Cerulean Brigade must train in unison with the Navy Brigade, and vice-versa. Such should increase the skill and discipline of all, bring traffic to both cities and allow for fraternisation of the troops.

4.  As part of the Seaguard, the Cerulean Brigade is obliged to attend the Seaguard Summit, held regularly to brief the troops on the matters of the Seaguard. Similar to the High Prince, the Trade King is cordially invited to attend every one, in order to raise any concerns over the Seaguard’s administration.

5.  In the event of the death of the Commander, the High Prince will meet privately with the Trade King to nominate successors. The Trade King will advise on the choice. The Commander then appoints all subordinate roles.

6.  The Cerulean Watch and the guard of Vira'ker reserve the sole right of law enforcement in their respective territories under the terms of their respective codes of law, though any combat reinforcements invoked by either side will defer to the Seaguard command.

7.  The Cerulean Brigade shall not partake in offensive maneuvers in violation of policies of Sutican neutrality as disclosed within the Supreme Writ of Sutican Governance.

            These terms of union are written with the intent of beneficial co-operation between Sutica and Vira’ker. Gone are the days of military irrelevancy and martial incompetency. As one, the people of Sutica and Vira’ker will train, drill and build themselves into one united military powerhouse, rivalling any enemy force upon Arcas and securing the peaceful existences of the two nations involved. The greatest defense is a strong offense, and the unified Seaguard of Vira’ker and Sutica will certainly have both.
