The Tale of Zyrus Blain
Early Life He and his twins birth was a hard an long one which took a day. But due to constant praying from his father to the Gods, he and his twin did make it out and were born not crying but laughing it is said. As they grew and were taught to be peaceful by their mother and father they became happier and happier unlike others in the town they lived in which lived sad lives as the humans began to move into their village and take more and more of its gold and resources for the Heartland. The village itself sat far north in the freezing cold mountains. The village itself would be called Snowfall due to the heavy amounts of snowfall constantly dropping down in heavy loads, and was in the middle of a clearing between the mountains. It would almost have snow falling on it...even in the heat of summer due to how far north it was. It had a school, a large slum for the poor who lived their (which was almost all of the town), and a few other smaller places which still gained income, with the main part being the gold mine, which was what many came there to see, use and trade with. In the school Zyrus began to learn the early stages of magical theory by a Mage who commonly came into town. Because of this he became smarter and smarter, while his brother became more and more brutal with his training, sticking to fighting with blades and bows than to alchemy or medicine, though he still begun learning these arts as well, just as Zyrus was forced to learn how to use a bow and sword. By the time he was a teen he had just become a reasonably good student due to his constant study and training while also studying the other things he was required to study in.
Teenage Life By this time in his life his entire village had been ransacked by bandits, and soldiers from the Heartland for the mine they had and then left to burn making many of the villagers move further south, or head to the Citadel of which many had left to live a more peaceful life. Many didn't survive the journey but those who did were his family and a few other stragglers including his tutor who continued teaching him magical theory which he had begun to use on his hunting trips, and studying trips. He almost always hunted with his brother who was an expert marksman with a bow by this point. When they were together a lot more food was brought back too. Though he hadn't seen much during his time in the world he knew of cities and always dreamed of going to one even though his parents always told him to stay away from those places due to the bigots and the slavers. They told him that the cities were unsafe because the guard were corrupted by coin or by their own views, or followed the rules too strictly, allowing for innocents to be caught in the middle of fights. By the time they finally reached a city they were turned away due to their groups large size just as his mother and father had said. By then many had died due to diseases and or bickering. His parents didn't want the same for their boys so they sent them away telling them that they could look after the family and everything would be alright. When they left they took a good amount of food, money, and books with them to continue studying, and adventured forth. The entire town split apart from then on, with a much smaller amount of the Snow Elves now being moved into the city, and the rest moving on for the nomadic life.
Adulthood When an adult Zyrus' brother was always out hunting while Zyrus himself continued to study his magic theory, settling on the Arcanism school and training to understand the theory behind that, as well as his medicinal and alchemical skills. Their travels had taken them east to a large plain full of traders, travellers and good hunts. The twins always managed to stay happy during this time, even without their family. One fatefully eve Zyrus woke up from the happy dream to the real world....he was sleeping away from the camp to get some peace and quiet to study when he heard something. It was a group of people talking about their Baron and how the brothers had trespassed on his land and killed his hunts, becoming just another group of vile poachers. This Arlen Glass sounded serious and so he moved closer to reason with the guardsmen...but when he saw his brother hanging by his neck from a tree he stopped...for the first time in his life he saw the truth, that not everything can be happy, not everyone can be saved and at that moment he lost control to his anger, picking up his brothers bow and sword, and hunting the three guardsmen remained to the last man, using both that and his alchemy to end them quickly...leaving him alone in a bloody mess. He needed to find this Arlen Glass, and make him pay with his life.
Now Now he has moved into the southern lands to see that he finishes off the Baron who murdered his brother by any means necessary, while maintaining his pure soul by trying not to fight those who do not deserve it. He also seeks to actually begin using magic and learning how to actually cast, now he has the theory behind it got and done. While in going around the lands he earns an income by searching old ruins for ancient artefacts and knowledge while also teaching people what he has learned during his times in the wilds and his times in the world. He has earned a good income and now is a lot richer than he was before because of this, as there is always good coin in them.
