From a young age Bismar went into learning Smithing. Before the age of 20 Bismar had a grasp on the basics, demonstrating the focus and endurance required. He learned from several smith's endeavoring to move forward to attain greater knowledge of what could be made. He was cared for by the the Kirkja Dverga for his early life, not knowing his clan or parents. With the debt he felt he owed the Kirkja Dverga, he spent three decades in service to them, learning a great deal about The Brathmordakin in the process. He found purpose in the teachings of Yemekar, The Maker and meaning in the teachings of Ogradha, The Lore Master. During this time he forged himself a unique necklace as a dedication of his faith, an amulet with Ogradha's open book containing Yemekar's hammer and Anvil. Being faithful to Ogradha he sought to improve his ability to smith and sought out books. He discovered a thirst for knowledge and started reading as much as he smithed, learning how to improve his process. Despite this the other smith's often cautioned those learning to avoid him out of fear of his ambition and willingness to break tradition; but they would often let him lecture and speak, which Bismar came to see as a calling. He started researching all kinds of knowledge and had his nose in books more often than not. Over the years some dwarves started calling him "professor" derisively, after those snooty human scholars, but he took to their name calling with pride. 35 years of this lead to him being known as "Professor" Bismar among many Dwarves, of course not an official title, but one that many of the apprentices used with respect. It also might be that they liked him so much because he would often show up to lecture after having drunk a few too many pints of ale, which the smith's would look down on this as unprofessional, but the apprentices loved their "Drunken Professor." He was dissatisfied with stagnation, having read much of the literature of the dwarves, so he decided to adhere to a teaching of Ogradha, "The secrets of the world await discovery. Travel Widely." "An' so I will travel" he said to himself, packing his bags once more.
