Optifine runs without a mod loader. And forge is on 1.13 it's just not terribly stable and it was a big enough rewrite that mods aren't updating yet.

I’m aware optifine runs without a mod loader. This is just for those of us to wish to run optifine with a minimap or other mods they find that are compatible with the loader in the meantime.

  3. As we know, LoTC updating to 1.13.2 has brought up various issues with the client side of things.  Forge isn't updated to 1.13.2, meaning that we can’t use the various mods we've became accustomed to (Optifine, Voxel’s Minimap, ect.).  Fortunately, there happens to be a 1.13.2 mod loader named “Rift” that allows you to run both of those.

I’m sure plenty have already heard/know of this, but for those of us that have been left in the dark here’s a brief run down of what Rift is:

    Quote

Rift is a lightweight modding API, library, and mod loader for Minecraft 1.13. The main objective of Rift is to make a more modular and lightweight modding API for Minecraft. Rift is not intended to compete with or replace Forge, but rather Rift and a set of optional community-made library mods is.

You can download 1.13.2 Rift here! You just run the jar and it’ll be directly installed into your Minecraft launcher as a new profile. You run it once, and it should create a mod folder where you can place mods (or if you’ve used forge previously and a mod folder is present, you can attempt to start it with the updated versions of the mods if available.).

*Keep in mind that mods 1.13 currently aren't supported, but might be in the future.

Here’s a list of mods I’ve tested that work with the provided version of Rift (I’ll be expanding on this as time goes on):

    OptiFine 1.13.2 HD U E6 found here.

VoxelMap 1.8.2 for 1.13.2 found here.

I’m sure there’s plenty of other mods than can be used with rift, you’ll just have to dig around to find them. Nevertheless, hopefully this has helped!
