Chesi is the daughter of a farmer, and a sister to seven siblings, including her twin brother Sun. Her father is a rice farmer and her mother dabbles in medicine, but she mostly cooks for the family and sometimes the village. Out of all of Chesi’s siblings, she was closest to her twin Sun. When their father became ill, Sun when off to make money to pay for treatment for their father, while Chesi stayed behind to take over running the farm while her father is incapacitated because her family is one of many providing farms for the Watanabe aristocratic clan, and they couldn’t just stop producing food. Sun writes to Chesi every so often telling her of his achievements such as getting married which Chesi is extremely sorry she missed, and his wife giving birth to twin children which again she’s sorry she missed. After Chesi’s father recovered with the help of the doctors that Sun’s new wife sent to the family's farm, Chesi decided to join her brother in The Free City of Ves. She hopes it’s stable by the time she gets there since Duke Paul of Adria has abdicated the throne to King Marius II of Haense. She would hate for anything to get in the way of her reunion with her brother.
