Gilith’s story began long ago when the romance between his mother and father began. Gilith’s mother was a Wood Elf loyalist who lived within Annil'sul before the High Elves were forced out. Gilith’s father was a naive High Elf whose kin despised the Wood Elven population. The two met at a fairly young age for Elven folk, both being around the age of 100. Their chemistry was immediate, however, it was never to be. While the two would meet on occasion under the starlight beyond the city, their secret meetings were soon revealed to hateful High Elves. During these meetings, Gilith was conceived and later born in secret in the woods beyond the city. Gilith was left in the woods with a group of Wood Elves who preferred to stay away from the political rule of the High Elves, but was regularly visited by his mother. Upon his birth, Gilith’s High Elven kin unleashed a violent plot upon his mother and her kin where they were slaughtered. While Gilith’s father loved her very much, he was not brave enough to face the wrath of his kin and did nothing to save or warn her. High Elves were sent to recover Gilith so they could fully dispose of what they perceived to be an abomination, but the Wood Elves would not give him up so easily. The force of sent to recover Gilith was destroyed by them, but with only one Elf remaining who took Gilith deep into the woods where they remained in peace for decades.
Gilith is unique because of his ancestry. Being of High Elven descent he is quite pale for a Wood Elf, but still too tanned to be a High Elf. He is proficient in the teachings of Wood Elves as he has mastered the use of a bow and sword by the age of 19 and learned some of the traditions his mother upheld. His eyes are grey in colour with glistening blonde hair that was apparent because of his father. Closer to the appearance of a High Elf, but very much a Wood Elf at heart.
Gilith spent his years patrolling the borders of his home deep in the woods, being very weary of trespassers, as he knew fully well the threat that his High Elven kin possessed, however he was unaware that they had been ousted from the realm and were not to return. Gilith’s caretaker soon passed away as they had grown weary at the age of 365. Gilith grew lonely and mourned his companion in solitude for a long time before he desired adventure beyond his borders. With nothing but his beautifully carved bow and his magnificently forged Elvish sword, Gilith strode out from his woodland seeking a civilisation of his kind.
Gilith being foreign to the concept of ilmyumier, had not yet received one. However, upon his arrival in the Wood Elven capital he soon became aware of the culture that he so long desired to learn more about. Gilith thought of his mother sometimes, often staring upon the stars of the night sky in a trance. He desired greatly to become more like her and less like his father and High Elven kin, who he rightfully despised and blamed for his mother’s death. Because of Gilith’s dedication in preserving his mother’s memory and tradition, he chose a Camoryn ilmyumier that appears as stag horns upon each of his shoulder blades. Gilith constantly travels the woodlands of his new home as a defender of the wood and his people.
