During Duncan's Adolescence he worked as a blacksmiths apprentice for his Father, working long hard days moulded him into a strong young man. After years of continual labour Duncan came to realise that this simple life was not for him. Believing there was further purpose to his life he set out from his small hometown to find a life and name for himself. Through his work as a blacksmith his body had grown strong and fit. knowledge of the sword he grew up crafting allowed him to use one with relative ease. However he was no knight.
His father had given him basic lessons on reading and writing and as such Duncan was literate and enjoyed a good book once in a while. However his true passion still lied in the crafting of armoury and weapons which he had a natural gift towards. His Heartlander blood drew him towards the larger cities and towns and he soon found himself looking for a home in one of the larger human settlements
Duncan often viewed himself as better than those around him due to his sense of higher purpose and would not accept help from others unless it was absolutely necessary. This often grew content in those, especially of other races/sexes
