Basil grew up with his mother just outside of Laureh'lin, never learning a last name. His mother named him after a character she loved from a book she passed on to him. She was very quiet and kept to herself and kept Basil away as well. She taught him to read, to carve wood and cook, but never truly let him see the outside world. He kept to his literature, dreaming of his future where he could run off and explore. As he aged, he learned more and more about what happened to his father. His mother told him that they used to travel. From what he gathered, the two were in Felsen at the time. His father had angered the wrong people and had been killed by The Butcher Boys. This had scared his mother into hiding, fearful that they may come after her next. However, he’s not sure of this, as this is all he could gather before his mother went into a sobbing fit each time. At 43, he was fed up and fled in the night. Basil fears of being caught by his mother but is desperate to find other elves to discover the culture he was deprived of. Basil left everything behind and also searches for what happened to his father, or if he is even dead. He wishes to study magic and try to help people around him to make the world better. He is very honest (to a point people may think is rude), stubborn and light-hearted. He doesn’t know what to expect starting on this adventure, but so far everything surprises and amazes him.
