Noatha grew up on the outskirts of Carolustadt. Her family are Farlanders but they came here a few generations ago. They never got especially rich and they never quiet adapted to the traditions and behaviour of the heartlanders.
Her dad was an inkeeper of a small tavern. Her mother died when she was born so she was all her dad had. They were not rich but also not poor. They just had enought money to be happy. She grew up helping in the tavern and in the stables with the horses of the travelers. Her dad didn’t raise her as a Heartlander would. He taught her how to read, how to shoot a bow and riding horses. Of course she knew how to cook because after all they were still innkeepers. But she grew up more like a boy than a girl. The Heartlanders disaproved of this way of growing up. They looked down them and whispered behind their back. So their tavern was mostly filled with travelers and Highlanders. Noatha learned about a lot of different cultures and languages. The regular visitors of the tavern liked Noatha a lot because she was always happy and was nice to everyone. She made everyones day a bit better. It was just the Heartlanders that were cold towards her because she wouldn’t fit in. They ignored her on the streets.
As soon as she got 18 years old the pressure on her dad got a lot bigger. They all wanted her to marry and finaly fit in as she wasn’t a child anymore. Her dad got ill and it all got worse. She couldn’t run the tavern on her own, there were less vistors because they were scared to get ill as well and the pressure on her got worse and worse.
When her father died a few months later Noatha took all she had which wasn’t a lot. A book about a wise man she got from her dad, his silver dagger, some food and her horse Dawn and she left the tavern and everything she knew behind.
So she is very independet but also very shy as soon as there are a bit more noble people around her. She doesn’t need a lot to be happy. She likes to be around simple people but is still rather shy and careful with whom she trusts. But as soon as she trusts someone she is helpful and generally friendly. She likes to be alone or around animals.
