    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: metagaming is when the actions of the character you're roleplaying aren't justified by what your character know. You character should not have knowledge which is not justified by the character's lore and story.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: powergaming is when the actions of the character aren't within the boundaries of the lore of the character, example; a beginner mage should not be able to cast a world ending fireball. Powergaming is also when unfair actions are carried out which leaves the other player with no other choices.
