Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Born into a family of artisans in the city of Vinoa but Rion is restless and yearning for adventure. The solace that he finds in the sun-drenched city of Vinoa is no where to be seen as their restless spirit is caged in the gentle rhythm of the leatherworking business. The kind but stern man of Rion's father could see a longing for adventure in his eyes instead of the leatherworking that he has been training him for. A sailor, old and scruffy, paid a visit to the workshop. "Y'know, there's a continent past the seas up north. Name's Aevos. From what I heard it is full of dense forests and towering mountains..." As the sailor spoke about this mysterious place, Rion felt a spark inside him. Aevos has became a beacon of destination that he was determined to reach. Days turned into weeks, their desire grew stronger. The sailor aided Rion in studying maps of Aevos and helped him save coin for a voyage to Aevos one day. Long shadows were casted across Vinoa as the sun dipped underneath the horizon which marked a big day for Rion. Rion broke the news to his father about his inevitable departure from Vinoa. "Ah, I knew this day would come," his voice rough with emotion. "Yearning for something beyond these walls is something I assumed you want." He moved beyond his workbench, with slow and deliberate movements he walked over to Rion. With a hand on Rion's shoulder, "I have taught you the patience and skill of fine craftmanship. Go find something out there that you wish to follow, please." Obviously, his father was saddened by the news but understood his yearning for adventure. He gifted his son a pouch of tools and a blessing of luck. A life that couldn't be found inside Vinoa was waiting to be found in Aevos. He walked outside of the city walls, disappearing over the horizon. They joined a merchant ship bound for a distant continent by the name of Aevos. Spirit filled with a sense of purpose filled his mind. A long and arduous journey engulfed Rion in anticipation of what he might find in Aevos. The waves crashed against the shores of Aevos. He stepped off the boat that kept him afloat for a long time across the seas towards Aevos. What will he find in Aevos and what might new interactions bring him?
