Juno had quite a simple childhood. His parents, formerly Orenian citizens, immigrated to the Commonwealth of Sutica when Juno was still too young to remember. Perhaps some Orenian traits stuck with him growing up, since he felt he could never quite fit in with a nation of artists and traders whose coinpurses rang with every step. He was much more suited for working with his hands; on the hilt of a rapier, more specifically. He was mostly trained by his father, and after turning 18 years old, he started working as a bodyguard for the various traders in the kingdom. It wasn't exactly a rollercoaster, but he did get to see action every once in a while; and he slowly built up a bit of a reputation in his hometown.
One such contract would be the end of him. Not long after he turned 20, he was hired to guard a ship, bound for Norland, carrying precious cargo - exactly what it was remained undisclosed to him. It wasn't long before they were attacked by a group of pirates. He fought valiantly, but to no avail; the ship quickly sank, with or without its cargo. Juno managed to escape with only minor wounds, but what would nearly kill him was floating over to the Talon's Port on a couple of wooden boards. He was hungry, disheveled and dehydrated - but at least he'd made it. The sole survivor from that crew.
...Or so the story goes.
"Would you... step aside, sir?" He absentmindedly shook the man's hand, trying to look over his shoulder. "I'm trying to watch the sword-swallowers."
