You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I'm looking for a friend, a human friend who was fairly tolerable and often travels with an elf. I've come a long way from my home, Celia'nor, and I've stopped here briefly to see if perhaps you'd have seen them around here?"

A small necklace is shown to the old lady, and the old lady stares at the necklace and shakes her head and responds "A high elf like you looking for a human friend? Quite odd coming from your race. Perhaps this friend has been long gone? Perhaps this friend has settled for good because she ages and can no longer keep up with affairs concerning elves such as yourself. And perhaps she is tired of elven attitudes."

You look at the old hag for a while longer and as you stare you realize the old hag is called a hag for her age in human years. "I'll be on my way then, staying too long here won't do me any good. I intend to look for this friend for a while, to return to her this necklace. If they are gone I'd like to see for my own eyes. We have shared many adventures together and theres an elf I would like to meet on my journey who often stayed around this human friend." 

The lady looked confused and said "I've had another elf visit these areas more than a decade ago, a much nicer elf might I add." She said in a sarcastic tone. "This elf said they were traveling east. It's better to stay in your cities, elf, rather than roaming around to find people who seem to be running away from something. Elves like yourself should understand that not everything remains as they were" There's an aura of familiarity in the old hag's sarcasm that is almost charming.

You pause to look at the lady once more and continue to get up to exit "Thank you, perhaps I should remain still for a while, but I've missed my friends for quite sometime. I must be going." As you exit, you leave the necklace at the table, and the old hag hands you a letter. A letter with an old friends name engraved on the wax lining. You think to yourself that perhaps the old hag did not want to talk to you for too long in fear of wanting to come along. To ask more questions about your future journey, or even the past. She would've hindered the journey anyways, due to her old age. You think to yourself that humans age quite fast, and you mumble "I wasn't gone for long." As you walk away and you read the letter, you further understand the old hag's intentions. A part of the letter read "Once a friend always a friend, but even friends come in passing to elves who live long lives."
