You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Aelfric grips onto the hilt of his aurum-bladed sword, as he had done for the majority of his travels. Along his travels he had traversed across plains, mountain ranges, great, bustling cities, though he had become more tense upon entering the dingy town in question. “Hm?” His head raises at the notion of the old hag lurking in the back corner of the tent. “Ah - Evening..” He started. “I am a Bastard, see.  My father had me with a farmer’s daughter out in the countryside of the Kingdom of Hense. He never paid much attention to me, likely thought I was to grow up and join the military ranks, and while I may yield my sword, my heart yearns to see every inch of this great continent of Aevos while it still beats so. Thus I have started my travels, leaving my humble home to see all of which I may, walking far and wide until my legs cannot and I retire to the night, waking at the brink of dawn to travel once more.” Aelfric smiles. “It is perhaps a lonely life. But I have felt the freedom so many crave for themselves.”
