Brienne was born to a rather poor family from Judi, hence the missing last-name. They made a lot of good connections with their fellow people, working for pennies on the dollar. After work was finished they'd go out with their friend's to gamble. They had always found a way to steer clear of the religious "psychosis" she would call it, that the other people had fallen to. They had always to be a Knight, yet their family found it quite unrealistic of her due to them being a weak little girl. Once they had grown old enough to defend themselves they traveled far away, to a place they may be able to one day gain the nobility they had dreamed of. And they found themselves at the Grense, the heart of Burgundy, where she may find a way to earn herself a path to nobility.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
(Assuming 'The traveller' is my character, Brienne..)
*She stands there awkwardly for a moment, not expecting to see the old woman. She finds herself taken aback by her statement of expectation.* "Expecting me?" *Brienne says, tilting her head slightly with confusion before walking over to the chair. She slowly takes a seat, trying to figure out the old woman.* "Well.. for starters, I come from a place quite far away. Me and my family had lived as peasants quite a bit away. I came here in likes of figuring out what it takes to be a Knight." *Brienne says, her mannerisms changing from vigilant to rather open.* "And what about you? Do you have a name, or any information?" *Brienne asks curiously, attempting to figure out whether she has anything of value to share.*
