Born as the youngest son to a family of Highlander swordsmiths, he spent his youth surrounded by the scorching heat and ringing anvils of a bustling workshop in the frozen northern territory of Reinmar. His parents and older siblings were proud masters of the forge, raising him strictly within a traditional, demanding environment where anything less than a perfect blade was discarded. While he absorbed their generations of blacksmithing techniques, he grew increasingly tired of living under the shadow of his family. Wanting to forge his own reputation without relying on his father's coin or connections, he packed his favorite hammer to seek out his own destiny. With an ambitious but stubborn drive, he turned his back on the cold mountains of his home and journeyed down south to seek out a new beginning within the realm of Azuras.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

"I come from the frozen anvils of Reinmar, far to the north," Akaroth answers, his voice cutting through the quiet shack. He steps forward and pulls back his heavy travel pack, carefully setting it down on the floor beside the wooden stool. Pulling out the seat, he sits down, the worn leather of his blacksmithing apron creaking under his broad frame as he settles in. He rests his calloused hands firmly on his knees, "I am the son of a swordsmith, I left my family’s workshop behind because I refuse to live forever in my father's shadow. I hope to build a reputation entirely of my own making, using nothing but my own hammer and anvil to forge a new legacy here in Azuras."
