In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: If you learn about something out of game and use that knowlege in game.

Rinn was raised in a small group of wood-elves and high elves in a secluded area north of Haelun’or. He was born a female, but slowly realized throughout his childhood that he was really a boy. His parents were surprisingly supportive given the strict lifestyle of the community, and it wasn’t until later that Rinn realized that their supportiveness was solely because they wanted a son in the first place to become a politician in Haelun’or and were disappointed to have a girl instead. His community was part of the Camoryn seed, but they took it way too far, considering themselves better than any other races and wanting to remain separate from the outside world in order to stay “pure.” The community also insisted on education as they considered knowledge of sciences, maths, courts, and magic to be extremely important. Rinn, a rambunctious child from day one, was in trouble more often than not from either “forgetting” to do his homework, or from running off to play in the forest. As he was only a child, the punishments were small, not being allowed to play with his friends, having to do the chores of his siblings as well as himself, ect. However, as he grew older, the punishments slowly grew worse, for, as a child running off to play can be passed off as childish antics, but once that same child has grown to 20 or 30, that is no longer possible. Rinn did horribly in school, partially because he couldn’t concentrate well, and partially because he simply had no affinity for the things they were being taught. The combination of wood elves and high elves in the community didn’t result in a mix of the two cultures as one might have hoped, instead creating an extremely strict society, focused on knowledge and arcane magic. Rinn couldn’t read even the simplest spellbook, or conjure the tiniest spark. He was tested for any magical affinity, but after nothing was found, he was removed from any and all arcane classes, removing any chance for him to understand magic, as it was a forbidden topic outside of the classes. His parents constantly compared him to his two siblings, his older sister Eriyn, who excelled at magic, using it for everyday things, and seeming to overflow with it, meanwhile his little brother Cila had a photographic memory and knew the subjects so well that he could have easily taught the classes himself. As he grew, his childhood friends began to abandon him, some even becoming bullies, because if one person is singled out for any reason, most children will use them as a vent for their own insecurities. His sister Eriyn tried to protect him from the other children, but they simply avoided her, attacking Rinn and Cila behind her back. Eriyn acted like she couldn’t care less about her two younger siblings around her friends and her parents, but would hurt anyone who dared hurt them, and let them sleep with her at night when they were scared. Cila was a young boy, for all he tried to be an adult, and would often run to Rinn for help, even though Rinn faced the same problems and Rinn would always try to protect him, whether it be blaming accidents on himself so Cila wouldn’t get punished, or trying to understand Cila’s homework so he wouldn’t get in trouble for not understanding the material. Cila eventually began to shun Rinn as well around friends and family, losing the innocent belief of all children that everyone is good. Rinn was a rambunctious child and had trouble keeping still, but when he turned 30, he tried to follow his parents on a trip into a nearby town, hoping to meet new people and see new things. His father caught him, however, and sadly, so did the chief. At his age, the punishment for disobeying one of the village’s biggest rules was a whipping. That night, Rinn was whipped 20 times, leaving scars across his back that would never leave him. He was bedridden for several weeks, at the end of which he stopped being quite so figity, keeping his happy personality, but retreating farther into himself and staying away from school and the town for longer and longer. So far in this story, Rinn’s life has seemed pretty horrible, and while it was, there are some points I am skipping over. Rinn had 3 close friends in his childhood, who stayed with him throughout all of the bullying. Elsn, Rasei, and Nirta. The three would constantly be together when they were little, and still managed to hang out when they were older. They were always there to support him, even when he was not a him. When Rinn was still living as a female, he dated Elsn for a time, nothing serious, just the love of young children who want to be adults. However, when Rinn told Elsn he was in fact, male, Elsn supported him the entire time, with Rasei and Nirta at his side. When they were all around 14, the 4 of them discovered an injured squirrel who was missing a leg in one of their favorite hideouts. They picked it up, driven by the kindness that only kids can possess, and brought it to Eriyn, who was already quite far in her studies of magic, and healed the squirrel with difficulty and assistance from the 4 friends. Several months later, the 4 released the squirrel, now named Jin, back into the wild. The next day however, Jin returned, searching the 4 for food, and he returned again the next day, and the next, until he finally died at the ripe old age of 12. Thus began Rinn’s journey to make all the animals of the world love him. At least, until the next day, when a small bluejay bit him as he offered it seeds. His love for animals persisted, and still does, to this day. Another positive aspect of Rinn’s life was his tutor, an elderly man named Ivellian. Ivellian was the first to see that Rinn was simply not made to practice arcane magic, though his parents thoroughly disagreed. Ivellian was Rinn’s tutor for 3 years before his parents decided that Ivellian was a bad influence on him. Ivellian taught Rinn the ways of the old wood elves, including his basic knowlege of Ancient Elven, handed down throughout the generations. Rinn’s parents were not inherently cruel people, they really did want the best for him, they just didn’t know what was best for him. In their minds, becoming a politician in Haelun’or was the best thing anyone could hope for. Finally, when Rinn was 40, he decided it was time for him to leave the toxic place he currently called home. Knowing his parents would never allow him to leave, sneaking away seemed the best choice. His 4 friends wholeheartedly supported him on this, helping him pack and gifting him a small pan flute which they instantly regretted as pan flutes are rather loud and if the musician does not know how to play properly, can be very annoying. Luckily for them he was leaving town the next morning. His siblings gave him a bag in which to keep his things, and a notebook, and he was gone by first morning’s light. He traveled for several years before finally settling on the outskirts of an oceanic town East of Haense, and joining a new Seed, the seed Torena. That is where he lives currently, though he makes frequent visits to other towns selling any sort of home remedy he can create.

Your application has been put on pending as there are changes needing to be made before you may be accepted, as follows:

→ Nearly good to go. Just note that your persona can’t have any knowledge of Magic. They need to learn about all of that in roleplay. Also, make sure not to refer to any places that dont exist on the Server.

If you do not make these changes within 24 hours, your application will be denied. When you are finished, please message me on Discord fieselena#4300 to let me know, or if you don’t have a Discord, send me a forum message, and please do ask if you have any questions.

If you still need help, make sure to check the wiki, and I highly recommend joining the
New Player Discord as well.
