Humans of Heartlands hold reputation of being usually strong, which helped them establishing thier place in the existence of the world. A trait which Geraint lacked ever since he was born. Some consider it be an illness, some more imaginative consider it to be a curse befallen on the De Valoris family. But regardless what it was, the off-spring of a peasant family, was born, unable to properly wield a sword or work on the field for prolonged periods of time. As such, he was often regarded as a burden to the family and the future siblings that followed after his birth. He was a target, being unable to fight back against those often extend their frustration onto him, eventually taking things told to him by his peers at heart, developing an anti-social, passive aggressive personality that would often deter anyone willing to talk to him as an equal away. And no matter how hard his father and mother tried to make use of the boy on a farm, they decided to resort his duties in more tame farming duties and teaching Geraint in the ways of the Church of the Canon so he may one day serve as a priest.
However, despite his weakness, he was always fascinated by the soldiers of the Oren Empire, those considered as Knights and the Heroes of the past. Roles in life that required a lot of physical strength, something he lacked yet strives to reach. The dream of being of use in combat of any sort drove him to eventually find his calling among the books, so his intelligence may at least be of use when an oppurtunity of his dreams presents itself, even if it is significantly more humble than what he dreams for.
Yet despite that, he still is a peasant, and lives a peasant life, a life he never minded to move away from despite his dreams of being a Knight. And even as he made out of his family home and found a place to live among the settlements of the Oren Empire as a peasant working to maintain the land, acquire coin and food in exchange for the benefit of the royalty, he still holds to his dream. Praying that one day, he will be rid of everything he was said by his peers and family to be and be seen as an equal to his people, not a sick man that would rely on herbs, potions and people taking care of him.
Geraint looks at the man with a what seemed to the Gentleman an annoyed expression. He adjusted his glasses, suspicious of the man's intent, asked him:
"Why are you asking me this when it is my business?"
It would be obvious to the Gentleman if he knew how to read a tone that the tall Heartlander sounded annoyed and somewhat rude, most likely thinking he was up to something, it be that true would be entirely up to him of course. However before the Gentleman would decide to continue, he would notice the Hearlander going past him, looking as if not really into the discussion at all. Should he be stopped one way or another is up to the Gentleman
