Marilyn was born into a working class, (although not necessarily complete poverty), in a conservative household as a Heartlander in the Imperial City of Helena, Oren. She grew up believing women’s natural destiny lay in the home, marriage can only be between a man and a women, as a follower of the Church of Canon, the Creator must be worshiped for a pleasant afterlife in the Seven Skies, and the best race in all of Arcas are the Heartlanders, and she continues to believe this today. Throughout her life, her mother, Josephine Baker, has attempted to teach Marilyn the art of gourmet cooking and baking, while her father, Walter Baker, has guided their youngest child, William, in literature. Walter had dreams of becoming a great playwright, which never took off due to his lack of wealth, so he remained working in coal mines and doing odd jobs to uphold his family. Therefore, in honour of his father, William moved to the Kingdom of Kaedrin in hope for new opportunities. Marilyn stayed within The Capital, living with her parents. 

Growing up, Marilyn was quite extroverted. She formed strong bonds with others who shared a common interest for baking. Her social skills have never let her down. 

With a father who hones literature, and a mother who’s an expert in domestic work, Marilyn and her brother were raised with fair education for their status. 

Over the course of two years, Marilyn continued to work around the house with her mother, though her parents believed it was time for her to go her own way, just as her brother had. In the coming months, Marilyn’s parents decided to move to the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, both for their own benefit and in hopes to ease life as they age, as well as for Marilyn’s own good. Therefore, nowadays Marilyn works towards the only business she may be able to uphold; a bakery in the Imperial City of Helena.
