Gunthuric was raised with his twin brother, Berentorm, in the harsh north woods, growing up with the culture of the Gorundyr people, the Men of the Northwood. As his mother would work under the leading clan, the Skarpefanger clan, Gunthuric learnt the culture and fighting skills of his people. His father, being a blacksmith for the leading clan, gave Gunthuric the opportunity to learn the basics of blacksmithing, which will help him financially in the future. Gunthuric had a strong bond with his brother and that of the Skarpefanger clan. They lead their lives, believing the god Beura the Den-Mother blessed their existence as twins. Berentorm and Gunthuric would live their lives side by side, fighting, learning, and helping each other along the way. It was time, at the age of fifteen, he was sent on his sacred pilgrimage, “The Coming of Age”. This sadly meant for the separation from his clan, his family, and his brother, but it was in the name of the gods, and Gunthuric pushed onwards. Time would pass for Gunthuric, as he would continue to travel all across Atlas. However, his travels did not end as it would be assumed for most Gorundyr people. Gunthuric would keep travelling south, all across the empire of man. He would learn that they serve one god, not many at once, and he learnt of all the different cultures and people of this greater empire too. His lifelong travel would end though, having heard of a name that he hadn’t heard of in years, Berentorm. He lives not far from where he travels, in a town named Curon, and this is where Gunthuric decides his travels must end, in order to meet a brother that he had not seen in 25 years.
