You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Marko stares off into the distance, as if reminiscing upon some long-lost dream. "I come from the Duchy of Adria, my name is Marko Cavey. I never really knew my father, ever since my grandmother took me away from him, blaming him for the death of my mother and not being able to provide me and my brother with a good life. Although my brother choose to stay, I hoped that we would meet again one day. In the years that followed, I grew up traveling from city to city with grandmother, peddling wears and curios. Yet a few months ago, my older brother, Robert Cavey, sent me a letter asking me to join him in service to the Eulers". Marko pauses, looking back the way he came, then continued, "I had originally thought against it, seeing that my grandmother's health was getting worse with her age. Then, just around a week ago, she passed away". The air grows silent, and Marko once again pauses before continuing. "On her deathbed, grandmother apologized to me for taking me away from my brother, and asked of me to follow in his footsteps as her dying wish". Marko then looks at the hag, "Thank you for listening to my story, but now I must depart, there is still a journey ahead for me, and there are many things that I wish to ask of my brother, and I'm sure that he has many that he would wish to ask of me". With that, Marko stands up and bids the hag farewell.
