Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example: 

"I was just a poor farmer’s son, a twin, with Avern. We weren’t identical—he had brown hair, and his eyes always seemed sharper, like he could see more of the world than I could. But we were two halves of the same whole, the kind of bond that only twins understand. We grew up in a forgotten village in the Kingdom of Numemdil, working the fields, living off the land, day after endless day.

There was no room for dreams here, just the constant grind of survival. It was the same every year, and I think we both felt it—like we were stuck, living in a loop of never-ending labor. We had each other, sure, but that didn’t change the weight of a life we couldn’t escape."

*Raon would pause looking up to the sky for a moment before meeting the old hag's gaze again and continuing the story*

"Then came the whispers. Word spread of mercenaries—men who fought not for honor or kings, but for gold and glory. Avern heard it first, his eyes lighting up with that fire I recognized too well. He was always the one with bigger dreams, with that hunger for something more. And when he said we should leave, to take a chance on a life beyond the fields, I couldn’t say no.

We packed up, left behind the only home we’d ever known, and joined a band of sellswords raiding the lands of Haense. I didn’t care about the cause, the politics, or who we fought for—I just wanted out. And for the first time, I felt alive. 

But the truth of it was harder to face than I’d expected. Battle wasn’t as glorious as it had seemed from afar. It was blood, sweat, and death—and it wore you down, piece by piece. I saw Avern change. He was still my twin, still the one who could push me forward, but the war had eaten away at him in ways I couldn’t understand."

*Raon would sigh lightly as the memories flooded of Avern's slow change  it was clear his twin brothers change took quite the mental toll on Raon*

"And after all that bloodshed and war we are here to find a new path in life and maybe a new peacefull life"
