    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when knowledge that the person has while playing is used while roleplay their character. Even though said character would not know the same information. To not metagame you need to play the world through your characters perspective. Only when they meet a teacher of magic can they learn said magic. One cannot use their own knowledge of magic to skip the fun process of progression.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming reminds me of roleplaying as kids. Ones character would immediately be immune to all damage and would be the most cunning, undying person in the entire world. Powergaming takes the fun out of roleplay because it leaves other people feeling unsatisfied and cheated.
