    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: using out of character knowledge to influence your actions in game

    example: Someone reads on discord that someone has lots of resources so they hunt them down
    example 2: Someone uses info they read on the forums and are using it in character as if they had the info all along
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: having your character do unrealistic actions for your own needs
    example: "H'lork kills Aleksander with a feather"
    example 2: "The old and frail Bob kills all 4 ninjas sent to kill him"

Patrick takes a few seconds, smelling the man then snapping back and quickly answering:

 

"OH yes yes uhh, I am travelling to learn about different cultures and writing all I learn in my notebook which I keep on me at all times".

 

"Seems very interesting, what do you have written down as of now?"

 

Patrick quickly sorts through his notebook passing past more of the brutal pages. Finally he stops at a page describing a beautiful river that had a magical aura all while there was a sunset in the background. He pushes the book into the man's face, eager to show him his writing.

 

"Here! One of the nicer places" he says as he tries his best to not look creepy while smiling since he is untrained in expressing emotions.
