You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
I read the expression on the woman's face, seeing if her intentions are benign. I take a small breath, and begin talking. "I've been travelling, from the lowlands to the peaks of mountains. I search for esoterica, whether it be scrolls, artifacts or whatever else Yemekar has placed upon Aevos. My reason for this search, is for study. Back in my homeland, I am known as a sage. I collect scrolls and artifacts, study them, analyse them, and categorize them. I believe that man is immortal insofar as he attains the intellectual perfection that is open to him. This means that man becomes immortal only if and to the extent that he acquires knowledge of what he can in principle know. This knowledge survives his bodily death and constitutes immortality. My search, is for knowledge." As I finish talking, I bow down, as to thank the woman for listening. "Thank you for listening to an old man babble, not a lot of people seem to have the attention for my ramblings these days." I then take my leave, and go on with my search for knowledge.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: You avoid powergaming through adhering to grounded actions, which do not force other players to respond to wildly unfair actions. A good example would be using a certain action to instantly kill someone, or using an action to instantly dodge someone's attack, without any chance for the other player to avoid this.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay through not allowing players to build out their story naturally. If someone metagames, they inherently not only skip over the created roleplay story that other people have made for their character, but also makes it unfair to play against the player which does it. For example, if a character has a certain weakness, and someone told you about this OOC and you ended up using this in battle against this specific character, that would be metagaming. This is a problem, as this inherently makes having weaknesses for a character (which is important, as it adds depth to characters) a huge liability, and makes roleplay unenjoyable.
