You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Arel sat down on the torn up cushion a little unsure about how the hag knew her but she began to tell her. "Well let’s see, I guess my childhood is a good place to start," she said. "I was born in an old spruce tree in the woods," Arel paused for a second, "I think in... the north?" "Well anyways, when I was young I spent most of time exploring the woods. I was always fascinated by how dew drops stayed on flower petals and how the sun and moon rotates from night to day. So I started researching nature. Every bit of it in this journal." She then took her journal out of her satchel and handed it to the old hag. She continued, "And now that leads me to why I'm here," Arel said calmly. "I was planning to go somewhere where I could research about more or something different. So, I went wherever my feet led me.” The old hag handed her back the journal and led her behind a curtain. She saw different kingdoms and people, dwarfs, halflings, and even something she had read in books called a "human". That's when she knew things were going change.
