    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Having your character act on knowledge gained outside of the game, for example running to help a group in a surprise attack happening across the world.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Having your character use abilities far above their realistic capabilities, for example a human using a pillow and stoping the blade of a ork.

Achatius grew up in a very poor village outside of Helena, His father was a great warrior in this village known for his time in the war of two Emperors, he lead the patrols and repelled every attack they had ever faced, while his mother was a sickly woman who worked herself to an early grave when he was only 5. After this his father became a heavy drinker, often coming home to beat Achatius. At the age of 15 Achatius struck his father back, his father stumbled due to being drunk and smashed his head against a wall he was dead. Afraid of what might happen to him he fled only taking a sword his father has used in the many defenses of the city.

 

On his travels he met a old elf, the elf offered to teach Achatius swordsmanship skills he had learned over the years. He excelled in every style of fighting or swordsmanship he was taught, even still he struggled when it came to archery. Achatius now being 17 knew his time to leave would come soon, after all he was soon to be a man. He spend that last year with the elf training in everyway he could, promising that he would come to visit the elf again someday. One thing this elf had said to him had stuck and that was, “placing your faith in an invisible deity is illogical.” because of this he never found a religion and was often mocked by humans but the high elves understood him stance.

Physical Description: A tall man with a slim stature, his long sandy blonde hair flows just below his eyes, He has a dead expression, the smell of liquor rip on his lips.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

  • Your Powergaming and Metagaming definitions are incorrect. Please refer to our wiki pages on metagaming and powergaming for the server’s accepted definitions, just keep in mind that plagiarism is not tolerated.

  • You must include at least two valid server Lore References in your character biography (other than your character’s race, family, a date or one of the server’s maps). This lore reference could be something like the name of the city your character was born in, the religion they follow or an event such as a war that your character has lived through. Please fix this using the LotC Wiki.

  • Your character’s Background is too short. Please extend this to at least two decent sized paragraphs. You could include more information on things such as your character’s place of birth, upbringing, family, profession and any other important events that have happened to them.

  • Please try and expand on your character’s Description. This field should give a good idea of what another person might see when they look at him. You should try and include more about the physical attributes of your character, such as their build/stature, eye colour, hair colour and any other distinguishing features.
