Bjarni was born in the northern part of the world. Bjarni lived with his parents and an older brother, Karsten in woods. Bjarni's father taught Bjarni and the elder brother to hunt and how to survive in the wild. Bjarni's parents let their children to go hunting by themselves when they were ready.
One day Bjarni and his brother were out hunting when they encountered a vicious bear that attacked them. Bjarni and his brother came out victorious but Bjarni ended up with three scars on his chest that would stay to live with him. After the battle with the bear, Bjarni and his older brother were scolded by their mother but their father praised them for their bravery. Later Bjarni asked his brother to spar with him so he could become stronger and be more prepared for another encounter with a wild animal. The elder brother gladly accepted his request and their started spar and get stronger with each other while going on with their daily lives.
One day Karsten overheard their parents talk about the events of the Tenth Nordling War that happened by the time he was born. This peaked his interest. Karsten told Bjarni about how he wanted to explore the world nad different regions and learn more about them. Bjarni was fascinated by what Karsten told him and was inspired to start his adventure as well. Their parents told them that they would allow them to leave the woods when they turned eighteen. So two winters later the elder brother packed up his things and was ready to leave. Father gave him an axe in case he needed to protect himself. The elder brother told Bjarni to come search for him after the next winter passed.
One winter later was the time when Bjarni was ready to leave the woods for his adventure. His father gave him an axe as well. The axe was almost identical to the one he gave Bjarni's brother. Bjarni has now started his adventure by heading south of the house. His first quest is to find a town for more detail.
As Bjarni arrived at the port he was approached by a stranger in a dress who asked him a question. Bjarni simply answered him: "Hello, sir. I am only here to visit this marvellous city.". That was only half the truth. Bjarni was also here to find clues about the whereabouts of his brother.
