As a part of the remnants of the Harians founded in Atlas, Peyton, the young Kadarsian farfolk from Al-Damashq had no money at all and all he could gather to eat were just dingy scraps of hard bread and moldy cheese. He thought he had made a mistake by running away from his boring past as a farmer, until one night in a tavern, he heard a man talking about his multitude of journeys and exciting experiences. The way his voice entranced him and the drunken crowd was magical. When the man finished telling his stories, Peyton approached him. He wanted to learn how to be as brave and ambitious, just like him, especially after knowing every single detail about his unforgettable tales. Lucky for him, the man was captivated by his energy and decided to take him on as an apprentice.
Over the years, Peyton traveled with the experienced adventurer across the massive amount of lands. He taught him the many tricks of the trade, such as how to read, write and even play the lute to earn a few coins. Peyton saw this wise individual as his teacher and best friend. One night, after he had drunken too much wine, the man got into a tussle, he fought back like the courageous fighter he was, and in a desperate and intense fight, the fierce warrior and adventurer ended up getting stabbed four times with a rapier in a quick and violent manner. The man, realizing what he had done, looked at the young Peyton before he died with a look of regret upon his face. Peyton, though traumatized by the event, managed to resume his journeys by himself, bury his mentor and keep his presence and all the positive memories in his head.
Albeit saddened by the loss of his close friend, Peyton enjoys the life of a traveling farfolk. There are always new moments to live and learn from, taverns full of strong drinks as well as an audience willing to pay some coins for songs about epic battles long fought by fearless men or a beautiful sonnet of love and romance, and of course, beautiful women to talk to and share his many stories with.
