    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming occurs when the person who controls and in-game character uses information that they aquired outside of the game to help themselves in the game.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is the abuse of power by a character that disrupts the flow of the game and causes problems in the in-game world. This usually occurs when a character can perform incredible feats that do not fit the lore/do not make sense.

First, I would ignore the man. If he were persistent, I would respond with, “Please Sir, I have very little time for these sorts of interactions. I am here to meet a potential teacher, although by the look of this city so far I may not find what I am looking for.” I would then rush past him, in the same direction I was headed. I would sink into the crowd as quickly as I came, drawing very little attention to myself, and moving on from the conversation.
