In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I think the way I'd avoid powergaming is by completely trying to stick to my side of the story and perspective and accepting the consequences of my actions. Staying true to my character's backstory, personality, knowledge, and capabilities is very important to me and important to the integrity of roleplay.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is disruptive because it makes conversations and stories less natural and can quickly turn into a race to see who has the most people on a call leaking things, which is just not fun at all. It also destroys the realism of the roleplay, as we in real life don't have a demon on our shoulder telling us were about to get backstabbed. I just don't believe that metagaming should belong in any roleplay for any medium, as it ruins the fun and can become quite annoying and toxic.

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"well I sure as hell ain't expecting ya am I?" he says, pulling the chair out, "So what par' of my life would ya like ta know?" he looks down aprehensively hoping she doesn't pry

"Just let it flow out, you may benefit from it," she says, swatting a fly away, although looking like she's almost inviting him to speak.

"Well, if ya got some'ing to drank I'll spea-" she opens her shawl to hand a leather flask, opening it and hands it over. "Well I'll be damned!" he exclaims, gulping down, "WELL YA READY THEN YA HAG", she nods slowly.

"Righ'yho me mutha and fatha were both halflings as ya see" pointing down at his small stature, " and well ya see not everyone loves the humans nor the dwarves so they were in burrows as they be. But one night a drunken man stumbles in and well..." he looks down almost flinching, taking a swig from the flask, "well he slaughtered them di'n't he."

The hag looks understandingly, opening her palms to show scars, "and how did you survive for so long as a young child?"

"Well, I obviously had ta... Hold on I di'n't mention anything about me being a child." A grin spread across the hag's face. "Oh ya some magical being or some'ing huh?" he says, forcing the last piece of the liquor down. "Well, ya already know, but I'll humour ya, ya did say I'll be benefitting off this, so you better hold your end of the deal. Anyways well yeah, I lived off the land, grew ma own stuffs all alone for who knows how long, but I grew tired." twiddling his thumbs "well its hard being alone with surviving on yer mind creatures and wha'not, so I decided to go out explore and learn more about the world. Then, well wel'ome to the presen' day I'm ere in yer," he looks around at his surroundings" whatever the hell this is, talking to ya.

The hag looks pleased and stands waving her arm forward" Well, I wish ya luck, sonny, you'll find your footing and do well, I'm sure. Grabbing the flask Wilibald Proudbottom turns around and lifts his arm "Well, I hope I see ya never, ya lying hag. Ain't got shit from dis conversation here ya con artist."

The hag smiles once more, knowing his whole story, past, present and future, she scribbles it down and shelves it on her small table, never to be opened again.
