You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
*She'd notice the depressive mood of the town, making her frown a bit in disgust. She could smell the rotten wood, slowly entering her nose, lingering around, making her body shiver in scaredness.* "Well uh, i'm nothing special to be quite honest with you. I'm just a simple traveller, searching for a new home.. Albeit this town wont be that new home, i'm afraid." *The girl would look around, seeing the floating candles, wondering why the old hag was so powerful... "Also.. W-Why do the candles.. float?" *She'd think about bringing up her training with orcs, but decided not to. People don't really react too well regarding mixed races, especially human-orc training from what she knows.*

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I'd say putting limits on your character creation and pointing it out to others, so that characters are balanced. I'd also roleplay in a manner to suggest an action, and allow my opponent to respond properly
For example; "Vilhelmina would slice off (insert enemy character name)'s head with a slice of her Axe." would be a thing not to do. "Vilhhelmina would attempt to slice off (character)'s head with a lice from her Axe."

How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It disrupts fair roleplay due to the fact that one person knows something about another character ingame they shouldn't (atleast not yet in some cases), which unless handled with properly via Ignoring when it comes to RP, can lead to characters becoming randomly suspicious or investigative for no apparant reason, which is not fun for either side of the RP, and makes the RP unnatural and pointless.
