You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

I sit among the mossy damp ground inside the candle smoke tent where the witch of the woods instructed me to. The cushion I have sat upon is warm and feels full with life. She hands me a clay cup of some mysterious liquid. I take a sip of it and my taste-buds are enlightened with the taste of jasmine and the smell of oregano. "What a wonderful blend!" I softly exclaim trying my best to not disturb the witch's grey crow sleeping on it's perch. She nods in thanks to my enjoyment of the tea. "I don't know where to start, I have been on the road for such a long time, I have many a story to tell you kind witch. Maybe I should start from the beginning." I pause. "If you have time of course!" My face winces hoping that she will listen to my tales of travel. "Yes dear please, for what is life without fulfilment. Take hours, take days, I shall have more tea for you darling." My face must have lit up with joy as she gave me a faint smile and nod. "Well it all started with my home..."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: To avoid powergaming make sure all players have control over their own actions. Such as forcing a person to submit to you when it does not realistically make sense in roleplay. Checking your own actions is a way to avoid this. Examine how the situation is playing out and pay attention if things are too unfair or one sided
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: If someone in discord were to tell me that there is a loot location somewhere and I did not learn it in game with my character it would be unfair to other players that do not know about it and realistically my in game character would not know about this location. So while others are spending time searching for unique things like places to explore and find goods, I would be able to go straight to it with no time wasted. It takes the fun away from finding it from me and punishes players who spend time exploring.
