You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

I look around the town, and take a seat on the cushion. "I've just come from my hometown, looking for something to do. Life had been boring at my workplace, and I'm always being teased about my height. I'm just bored of it, so I ran off looking to get some excitement out of my life."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Powergaming is when a someone is trying to make their character to overpowered. It can be bad as this can make doing things unfun for others. I usually just try to avoid making my character too strong to make the game more fair.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming is when someone uses outside knowledge their character should not know. It makes it annoying that someone isn't roleplaying properly, and can make it difficult to enjoy the roleplay if someone else isn't.
