    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Well never been asked this question before, but in all the text rp's i have done i normally try to keep mind of the "level" my character is at on what they should and shouldn't be capable of. I also try to never use definitive words on my emotes instead of "do it's tries allowing for a retort or a proper response back. there are very few things that should be a guarantee in open roleplay, the only guarantee should be that your character went to do this or that, or that you casted something not the outcome of the chosen action that's for rp to decide.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Meta gaming disrupts everything. as one who normally play magic casters such tricks should be held close to you. actions like this can lead to someone who knows nothing of me prepping and countering everything i do. If information is known that's for ooc talks alone, when your IC your mindset should match them along with keeping in mind what they character knows. if needed i can sometimes purposefully fall for something or the like if i know something i shouldn't.

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Iarva looks the hag up and down, a wary studying gaze. Looking around cautious for but a moment until her curiosity over takes her, she sits and speaks questioningly "Me? Have we met before.. or is this some form of magic? Once answered I'll decide if I'm willing to divulge my story to you." She then patiently waits for the hags answer, not letting her guard down in such a unusual and creepy place.
