You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude.." I look around the tent, careful not to stare or seem rude. I look down at the cushion and take a seat. I sigh then look up at the hag. "I come from I guess what you could call a far away land. My home." I look up an smile, "Oh a magnificent place it was. Respectable, honourable. I was part of a clan, well respected, earned our keep and held our own. Tough at times but smooth seas never made for a great sailor." I look down and let out a sigh, pain crosse my face. "There was a darkness, however. Bigger than we thought...it plagued our lands. Corruption spread, unjust, unfair, unstoppable." I drag my hands down my face. "I had to leave, I tried to do what I could, but I just couldn't..." I look at the hag, desperation flashed my face. "I have my loyalties, I have my duties. But they seem meaningless now. It's time to find a new purpose. Sadly everyone I knew and loved, left behind or they too fled." I straighten myself up, sit up straight, shoulders back. "New beginnings. New adventures eh. I hope I can put myself to good use around here. So...who are you? and what is this place?" I force a smile of reassurance, more for myself than anything. Here's to the start of a new life.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Think about whether the action doing is fair for both parties or both parties are in agreement, if it doesn't fit story or something your character would do or be able to do, don't do it. And don't make some bs up as to why your character might be able to do said things. If power gaming is witnessed, report it.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Because it gives an unfair advantage to those who are doing it, or can spoil part of the story or plot if using info your character would not else know. Also ruins immersion
