You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Why?" Alice crooked her head as she glanced the mysterious lady up and down, "I don't see why I should tell you anything." She stated plainly, "So give me a reason, a good one, such as..money, perhaps? I'm running low on those you see." Alice flopped down on the cushion, making herself quite comfortable as she waited for the lady's answer. When the lady simply narrowed her eyes, the easy smile on Alice's face faltered.
She sighed as she sat up, "Fine, fine, Goddess above have you never loosened up before?" She glanced down at the fire place, it's flames waved up and down, swaying side to side, she stratched her arm, her fingers digging deep into the fabric as if she wanted to tear it apart.
"My tribe was a rather small one, I don't know if you heard of us Arvellon, but my tribe only consisted of a few numbers of people in our tribe most of which were children but it was wonderful." She looked at the ceiling, her eyes were dazed and distant as if reminiscing, even the faintest smile grace her lips as she continued, "We were families, happy and well fed, that's all anyone ever needed in their life, right? To be with the people you love and that's more than enough even when your starving your family will tell a story or sarcifice their ration for you. That was the kind of family I have-..had." She blinked rapidly as the last part turned to so incredibly small and weak sounding.
"There was a fire. I know, I know it was a human I saw it. I saw with my own eyes that rounded ears and snow white skin I know it was one of them." She breathed haggardly, "I had to forge my own clothes because they too were burned, everything burned. And I was all on my own. And here I am."
There was something in her look, a certain vulnerablity. Tiredness? Grief? Before all too quickly she clapped her two hands and spoke, "So yeah that's it. Are you going to pay me or what? If NOT and I wasted my time here, then I best be going."
