Meredith Navvossa was born in the wilderness near Marna in a small Highlander camp, to Liah and Jonathan Navvossa, Meredith was taught from an early age how to survive in the wilderness, especially by her father, who was terrified that she would not learn to survive without help from others. Meredith enjoyed these lessons, and before long she became an excellent hunter and fisher. She had even learned the basics of combat from the retired soldiers in the camp. While everyone else the camp was perfectly happy living there in isolation, Meredith was curious about the world outside the camp. At age 15, she walked outside the camp and discovered a small village, and was amazed at the things she saw there, specifically the buildings and food. Meredith questioned why she had lived by barely scraping up enough food for the camp. After a heated argument with her father about what was best for the camp, Meredith ran into the woods for several hours. When she came back to the camp, it was torn and deserted, with the dead bodies the camp inhabitants everywhere. Her father and mother were nowhere to be seen. Soon after that, she returned to the village and attempted to make a life for herself, mainly by fishing and hunting. She had a reputation in the village to be stubborn and overbearing, but always trying to do the right thing. She enlisted in the village guard when she was 18, but was removed because she defied the guard captain multiple times, and always refused to wear the standard uniform. A few months after that she moved away from the village, and headed towards Marna, were she learned how to live in in a city environment, and were she learned her love for the color purple.
