Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Renata swats a bug away from her face as she enters the tent, taking a glance around the room. This place looked nothing like how it was described in the flyers. The old lady could do with some renovations, and a splash of color in this dull town wouldn't hurt anyone... But Renata didn't come here to critique interior design. There was business at hand, so she took a seat on the cushion and spoke.

"You must be Madam Silver, the information broker, then?" Renata takes a small pouch of coins from her bag and places it down alongside a folded paper with what appeared to be a coat of arms that featured a bird with wings spread wide open, "This is all I have. My parents are both deceased, and I have four other mouths to feed back home. My father suffered from amnesia and knew nothing of his past from before he met my mother, and just before he passed, he left behind this drawing. I beg of you, tell me anything you know about this crest. The famine has left our nets with barely enough fish to feed off of, let alone make a living from. Please." Renata pursed her lips, her eyes searching the hag's face to see if she would give off any indication of recognition upon seeing the crest. Everything was riding on this.
