Stealing, running and hiding. That was all Cassa knew - That is who she was. Hiding behind names, Hiding behind faces. And petty thievery was par for the course she thought - being just another forgotten child of the Holy Empire struggling to get by.
Over time Cassa taught herself how to survive, which local herbs can heal her scrapes, which back-roads the guards never patrolled. She also grew bolder, spending less time lying low, lifting more than just what she needed to live. Returning to her hideout from a particularly inspired thieving spree, she noticed an dagger stuck to her door with a note attached:
Cassa, Looking for real work?
- M
Turning the note over, Cassa saw a rough sketch of a map as well as a drawing of a small pendant. At first she thought it was a setup - she'd been burned by bad tips before, and those were from people she'd met in-person. She cased the place for weeks just to be sure she wasn't being set-up before slipping in and out during a regular change of the guard. After this Cassa continued to receive notes from "M" as well as payment for the previous job, but still never meeting face-to-face. The jobs branched out from taking items to taking information.

"Weird questions, We met before?" Cassa asks, scanning the room and watching the hag. Cassa waits for a moment before continuing "Fine, I'll play your game. I'm from the Norland."
"and...I want to stop hiding behind other names - other faces. But I'm scared that there's nothing left underneath."
Cassa takes a seat across from the hag, clearing her throat "Now, my turn to ask the questions."
