Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
 

Clematis looks down at the cushion, afraid to sit after the month she had so far "I would love to but im not sure if i can trust you right now...." she says wearily as she keeps her guard up, ready for any quick moves made from the elderly woman "I come from a few weeks away id assume, so far infact i've not a clue how long its been since ive seen landmass, i am an escapee you see" Clematis now sitting down on the aforementioned cushion, still not quite fully trusting in the old woman, but after so long of wandering she doesnt care what happens at this point, any kind of warmth is enough when youre freezing. "I was kicked out of the nation i originally came from, i was an assassin, just doing as my job requires me to do and i suppose i must have been rather satisfactory at my job as some royals ordered for me to be taken in, they told me if i didnt do as they wanted me to and kill some of their opposition they would have me done for high treason, i had my mother and father still around so i couldnt just say no, anyone of blood relation to me would have been executed along with me, i did exactly what they told me to." Clematis glanced down at her shaking hands before looking back up, her eyes dashing around the tent as the wind made the walls rustle and move even if just slightly "I killed the opposing royals and they decided i had outlived my usefulness, i managed to escape after nicking the key from the idiotic guards, i had to escape; i stole a small ship and i can only assume they didnt realise i was gone until come morning! no idea what came of my old timers though... but ive travelled for long enough, think id like to settle around here, have you any idea where the nearest larger settlement is? i think ive ran long enough."
