In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: The act of using information that wasn't received via roleplay. Example: Someone on Discord told you about what happened in some event on the server, you weren't there yourself, yet when you log on, you claim to know everything about it.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: The act of basically being overpowered or even god like. Example: Someone emotes that they slice off your head, without giving them a chance to react to it by attempting to do so. Can also be: When your character is basically invincible in a fight.
    Status: Accepted

Eilaf had a rather normal childhood, he was born in the Kingdom of Norland, in the forests of Aedelland, in Lunsbeck. He was rather active as a child, running around and exploring the surrounding area of Lunsbeck quite a lot, quite often without the permission of his parents, Kirsten and Nikolas Roid. Though his parents were somewhat strict – as they wanted Eilaf to grow up to be a good man –  they were still kind, and often played with him during their free time, and told him stories before putting him to bed.

When Eilaf reached the age of seven, and had grown strong enough to hold some tools, he took interest in going around helping his parents with their work, were it cleaning or renovating their house or working on any small farm or garden that there may have been. As time passed, he also went ahead and tried to help other people in Lunsbeck as well, though was quite often just left behind, due to not being as quick or strong as the adults, or older children. He knew quite many of Lunsbeck children, but not necessarily by name, as he often just played with them for a brief moment, not bothering to ask their names. However, there was one child who he did know by name in particular, Lif.

Lif was only a couple of months older than Eilaf, he was a somewhat scrawny, but tall child. Often wearing quite rugged clothes. The two met while they were running around the surrounding area of Lunsbeck. They quite literally butted heads, they had not paid attention as they ran, and so ran into each other. As the both of them were still young, and both happened to prove their brawn, they got into a slight game of fisticuffs, later tumbling around on the ground before being stopped by some of the adults of Lunsbeck who happened to arrive on the scene of the fight. Eilaf got a black eye and Lif lost a tooth, they were brought to their parents and after a proper talking to, were made to apologize to each other. After which, as the two got a good look each other, they started laughing at the rather goofy appearance that they were in after their tumble.

Since then the two have played together a lot, becoming what one would consider best friends. It isn’t unheard of that the two went around Lunsbeck committing horseplay, giggling along like the children they were, and afterwards getting scolded by their parents and having to apologize to those they played a prank on.

Time went on and the two grew older, their childish games changed to working in Lunsbeck with the other adults and talking with each other about things that teens like them would talk about, were it girls, or in their case, more mischief. For a good while they were known as the pranksters of Lunsbeck before they properly matured and became functioning members of society at the age of 18. Though most of their time was now dedicated to working, they still met occasionally to share a drink or two, this leading to drinking being one of Eilaf’s favorite pass times.

Eilaf lived on quite normally in Lunsbeck, before he witnessed some visitors from the capital of Norland, Morsgrad. He noticed that they were dressed a tad bit differently, and seemed to be somewhat respected among the people. Eilaf didn’t know the reason of said visit, but was fascinated by the strangers. This would eventually spark his interest to leave Lunsbeck and go explore the world, starting with Morsgrad.

However, it wasn’t until Eilaf reached the age of 20, that he talked about his thoughts with Lif. Lif listened to Eilaf intently, but in the end, turned out to be against Eilaf’s decision to leave for the wider world. Lif claimed that Lunsbeck wouldn’t be as fun without Eilaf, and that the outside world is much more dangerous. He claimed that Eilaf would lose his life, having no training in combat. Eilaf’s mind, however, was set. He told Lif that he absolutely must go, but promised to stay alive, and one day return to tell his stories about his adventure to Lif. It took a good while, but eventually Lif was convinced, letting Eilaf go somewhat reluctantly.

Eilaf’s parents were surprisingly supportive of Eilaf’s decision. They thought that all though Eilaf had been taught quite well by his parents and the other people of Lunsbeck, he’d receive some much better information of the world, and return wise and strong.

Eilaf set out on his journey after about two weeks, having gotten himself what warm clothing he could and a medium sized backpack in which he held rations and some money, given by his parents. The trip went quite well for the most part, as he had been taught to try and keep some distance to any people on the roads, as they may have been bandits. However, one day he was tricked by a small group of people, they stood next to a broken carriage, seeming as if they needed help. After a careful amount of thought, and being called over by the group, Eilaf walked over, in hopes of being able to help. He tried his best with the carriage, but only for a little while before being knocked out by said people, when he woke up minutes after, he was still laying next to the carriage. He still had his clothes and such it seemed, but his backpack had been taken. This event eventually resulted in Eilaf having trouble trusting new people, unlike before, when he was quite friendly to everyone.

With much difficulty, and begging passersby for any small amount of food, or by eating berries, or anything edible he found near the roads, he finally reached Morsgrad. Where he has now lived to the age of 21, doing any odd jobs he was able to find, though has yet been able to find a place to work in permanently.

*Eilaf looks upon the gentleman who approached him, it took him a small moment to answer, as his eyes panned up and down the figure of the man, examining him if he happened to have anything that he might use to attack Eilaf, then promptly cleaning his throath and putting on a slight smile* “Ah, hello there good sir.. I am here to simply find a place that I might call home, and work in. I’ve no particular interest in a high place in the society, nor in wealth. I only look for a way to provide for myself, and maybe a good place to drink in” *Eilaf would explain his honest intentions to the man with a slight – all though forced – chuckle, as his right hand rose to rub the back of his head*
