You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Thorsten sit before the old hag, unknowing of her background or intentions. Thorsten begins to tell of his story, though he doesn't expect much , for he is still weirded out by the situation. Thorsten begins to tell tale of his background. "My parents were born a Norland, they were no one of significants, they were simply farmers.. poor as the ground they grew their crops upon.. Sadly my mother had died during childbirth and I was raised by my father, who had resented me since the day of my birth. Blaming me for the lost of his wife. Eventually when I had come old enough to move and live on my own, I did in a heartbeat. It was only later on in the years that I had found out that my father had drinker himself to death, over the grief of not only losing his wife, but the love of his only son." Thorsten then looked back upon the old hag and say, "why don't you tell me of the events of old, and the many stories of other wanders, I wish to know more about the wars of Norland... or even the savage beast of Krugmar. I wish to know more about the war of the tenth nording war? It was said, that when me father was younger he was drafted and fought alongside his fellow norlanders and killed many orenian warriors, but lost many of his close friends from the village." Thorsten would continue his back and forth conversations with the old hag, until he was satisfied with the answers he was given. By the time he had decided to leave it was around dawn. he bared his farewell to the old hag, in hopes that he would once more see her again on his travels. As he departs he heads back onto the trail towards Norland.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Powergaming is when you don't give a fair chance to another player.. such as forcing death or even doing unrealistic movements... example, "Michael swings his sword towards Mark, cutting his arm off. Michael then thrust his sword into mark's through with a finishing blow and killing him." this is power gaming. The way I would avoid power gaming in Lotc would be simply playing by the rules and making sure everyone has a chance to respond, but also to make sure that it is fun for all parties. As I don't think it would be all that fair nor fun, if I was to take that fun away from others.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming disturbs fair role-play by having characters learn knowledge that which they haven't fairly learned.. or even if for example someone was outmatched in a battle, they couldn't just go and ask for help ooc... as that wouldn't be fun nor fair for other parties involved.
