    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Using knowledge that you were not supposed to know to gain the upper hand. Example: Lance runs to ruins to obtain a powerful relic. He has no prior knowledge of the lands, ruins, or even the relic.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Mary Sue, or Goku-wannabe. Basically doing things that are not normally possible. Example: Lance impales and kills a villager out of spite with his bare hands. Lance does not have the strength nor a good reason to do such task.
